I actually have a lot of personal experience that disagrees with the above. Not trying to start an argument, just adding to the conversation.

Did you "T" the line and put the ball valve facing down at the bottom of a vertical drip leg? A vertical run upwards from this junction will also help the water to accumulate in your drip leg. SC can get pretty humid, by my standards. Perhaps you have a lot of humidity and need a more...

I would imagine the best solution is to drain the line at its lowest point... which is underground. It sounds like you have water pooling in the line. Perhaps a large ball valve right after that section that will 'blast' the water out when opened?

All this online engineering and I don't see that nobody has mentioned hoop stress. Amazing. Hoop stress plus longitudinal stress at a weld plus rust and possibly cycles (if the max psi stress times a Kt is above the endurance limit)? That can absolutely happen if there is an overpressure.

I'm confused... So they won't turn a fastener? Do they fall of the wrench or at least not fit well? Have you already cut your fingers by jamming them down inside the socket? Are you judged at work by the quality of the inside of your sockets? I'd wager QC won't even see them and this was...

Dewalt's premium 18v hammerdrill spinning a 6" diamond holesaw on speed 1(hammer turned off). I was going through 24 layers of aerospace fiberglass, and when the holesaw bit as it broke through the last layer, I'd lose the drill about every damn time. If you could hold onto it you could bog down...
