    Garbage Disposals

More $$ disposals - Went from a Badger to an Insinkerator. Badger lasted a year. Insinkerator was drastically abused for 5 years. Never a clogged pipe. I even put whole uncooked potatoes down it just to see if it could do it. The only thing that clogged the pipe once was grease. I was young and...

    Garbage Disposals

I actually have a lot of personal experience that disagrees with the above. Not trying to start an argument, just adding to the conversation.

Decisions, decisions. The wife or my garage?

Boy am I going to get flamed for this. Reading through (Edit: The beginnings of) a thread of what sounds like a bunch of divorced men then I read the above. Somebody get this man a medal.

Looking for a 120 volt air compressor

Limited to 120v and 30 gallons... As the laws of physics still apply that's probably as good as you can do. I'm fairly certain that pump is rated for continuous duty, so plug it in and have at it. Just get used to listening to it.

Do inspectors actually check electrical connections...

From what I've read, calling an inspector out after the fact is a decent way to make enemies. It can also delay future building projects. They would also laugh it off... at first.

I never imagined I would see those words in this thread.

    Drying air from compressor

Did you "T" the line and put the ball valve facing down at the bottom of a vertical drip leg? A vertical run upwards from this junction will also help the water to accumulate in your drip leg. SC can get pretty humid, by my standards. Perhaps you have a lot of humidity and need a more...

    Drying air from compressor

I would imagine the best solution is to drain the line at its lowest point... which is underground. It sounds like you have water pooling in the line. Perhaps a large ball valve right after that section that will 'blast' the water out when opened?

    Blown up compressor tank

All this online engineering and I don't see that nobody has mentioned hoop stress. Amazing. Hoop stress plus longitudinal stress at a weld plus rust and possibly cycles (if the max psi stress times a Kt is above the endurance limit)? That can absolutely happen if there is an overpressure.

    Show your new tool arrivals

These are a real lifesaver. Bought the 180 one to do hoses on my Commander. Don't think I could have done the job without it.

    SK sockets, ideal

Definitely not derailing. Those sockets are all on a single rail. :lol_hitti

    SK sockets, ideal

I'm confused... So they won't turn a fastener? Do they fall of the wrench or at least not fit well? Have you already cut your fingers by jamming them down inside the socket? Are you judged at work by the quality of the inside of your sockets? I'd wager QC won't even see them and this was...

    Inadequate Power Tools

Dewalt's premium 18v hammerdrill spinning a 6" diamond holesaw on speed 1(hammer turned off). I was going through 24 layers of aerospace fiberglass, and when the holesaw bit as it broke through the last layer, I'd lose the drill about every damn time. If you could hold onto it you could bog down...

    SK sockets, ideal

But... do they work? Sorry, it's late and the cynicism is rampant. I'd be tickled to have half of what I see there in SK, inside chrome/no inside chrome/tearout or not.

Why are 12 point sockets everywhere.

One of the companies I have worked at has nothing but 12 point on the line, IIRC.
