    Small Drivers- Computer Tools

I work in a laptop repair facility where we work on most of the major brands, Apple included. We have kits from iFixIt as well as Wiha screwdrivers, and I think that's the best overall combination from tools I've used. The Wiha screwdrivers take a beating, and are great for just about anything...

    1/2" Ratchet

I'm fairly certain my Kobalt ratchet (from roughly a decade ago?) is a rebranded Tekton, I've not taken it apart but it's Taiwan-made and sports the exact same handle design, it's a 72-tooth model. The newer Kobalt stuff is Chinese CoO, but this one is Taiwan.

    1/2" Ratchet

Admittedly, this is a factor making me kind of want the Zyklop. Those handles look comfortable as hell. Sorry, I didn't see that thread. I know there was someone looking for a long-handled ratchet, but that's not a necessity for my needs, and I didn't want to derail their thread with my own...

    1/2" Ratchet

I don't need one, but I'd like to get my hands on another 1/2" drive ratchet wrench. I have a Kobalt 3/8" produced by Tekton that I really like, and at the moment my 1/2" go-to is a Pittsburgh Pro flex-head. I maintain and modify my own cars for pleasure and cost savings over going to the...

    Husky Tool Chest

I have a 52" (IIRC) and I'm very happy with it. It's plenty of room for my (admittedly small) collection of tools, and seems to do just fine with regular use. Drawer layout was a big factor for me, I prefer Kobalt over Husky but the Husky drawer layout was notably better for a similar price. I...

    New Torque Wrench

Not to derail this, but two questions: #1, how can one check the accuracy of their torque wrench, without breaking the bank? I have a somewhat old HF 1/2" drive that I'd like to know if and by how much it's off, but I don't know that spending the coin to get it tested by a 3rd party is...

Corded reciprocating saw (sawzall) recommendations for occasional use?

My buddy bought a couple Dewalt cordless tools, and they all seem to be pretty great (it's what I'll be buying when I delve into cordless), sawzall included. When I was in a pinch I picked up a corded Kobalt sawzall and it's been great for my occasional needs. Harbor Freight hand tools have...

    Thinking about sockets

I bought a set of 1/2" drive sockets in a set at HF, 12 point that came with a ratchet. Didn't really touch them for a while, though occasionally I'd use them if I needed a size I didn't have in my 3/8" set. More recently I picked up a nice Pittsburgh Pro flex head 1/2" ratchet, and determined...

    Tool brand/socket set recommendations

I'm a big fan of the HF Pittsburgh Pro line of ratchets, as for sockets I would buy impact and use them on hand tools. I've been using my HF impact 1/2" set for quite a while with no issues, otherwise I've had the same set of Taiwan-made Kobalt 3/8" sockets (6pt, short and long) for a decade and...

    Pry Bar Recommendation

I'll have to check the locations around us, I know there's one not terribly far from me (something like half an hour). If I can't get that, I'll start looking at the other brands -- I had an issue with Sears that causes me to want to avoid giving them money where I can, so I may wind up with the...
