picked up some more facom goodness tonite

I just picked up a set of mac line wrenches with a similar open end on them, they work surpisingly well. You have to fight yourself to stop pulling away from the nut, but once you get the hang of it, it's awesome

    Wera screwdrivers differences?

Figured I'd ask here instead of making a new thread. Do the yellow handle drivers have the Lazer tip too? I want to be able to pull my tool box around the shop by 1 Philips ;)

    My shop made press

No issues with tipping. It works great. The 7/8 holes with a mag drill took a very long time and was messy. I miss counted and added a set of holes that are not use able which is the very top set. Oops. Then reamed holes with a 7/8 reamer that reamed them oversized a hair (figure that..) and...

    My shop made press

Had scrap laying around and decided it was the right stuff to make a hydraulic press. I was tired of pressing things on my buddies tiny press that I have to hunch over, and with a bad back, it *****. This is 7'x3' using cheap horrible freight 20ton jack. I haven't used it much yet but seems to...

Rusty, Pitted Sheet Metal: How To Clean It

Phosphoric acid is the way to go. Clean as much rust off as you can with wire wheel then depending on how bad rust is. May end up doing several coats of phosphoric acid. It will convert the rust, it could turn white and crusty, and bare clean metal will end up dark grey. Which is safe to paint over.

    Mac cobr line wrench

I would like to mention I got a chance to use these, and they actually work surpisingly well. Atleast when you have room for it, kinda screwed if you need to flip wrench other direction to get a better angle on it.

    Matco MT2120 (IR2115TiMax) drops sockets

Never shattered broke or ruined a chrome socket with an impact, nor had any issues of retention from anvil on any of my guns. I have cracked a mac impact flip socket though, while using a chrome extension.

    Eye protection

I too have gotten a metal sliver in my eye while wearing wrap around safety glasses. It took me about an hour to actually find the piece that wad bothering me it was a piece about 1/16 long that darted it's way into the color part of my eye. I was able to get it out myself, but it started to...

    Mac cobr line wrench

Heres a shot. I have a set of speed style craftsman wrenches that I think are just horrible, but this mac design is completely different and looks somewhat promising. I won't use the set too often as I'm a vw mechanic, but should get the jobs done on the older American stuff I tackle. Plus the...

    Sockets without detent

Never thought of a round burr on a dremel. Good idea. I could smash them with a hammer and return them... they are useless otherwise. And not sure where you guys are but my local sears have USA made sockets still. I'll try the dremel trick first though. Nice call.
