    Sockets without detent

So I've been sorting through all my sockets, and found most of my 1/4 drive sockets don't have a detent to lock itself on to ratchet/extension ect. There are a couple 3/8 too Most of them are older craftsman and husky USA. And actually a couple of SK too. Looking at part numbers of doubles I...

    F732 ratchet question

I have a very similar style craftsman. It's my go to ratchet for almost anything. Maybe it's me, but I learned to use it. I can't stand a non flex straight ratchet

    F732 ratchet question

I thought I read it somewhere but can't find it. Also thought I read if you have a ratchet with dust cover on the head, you can turn it into quick release.

    F732 ratchet question

Just picked up a f732 snap on ratchet , I was curious if it's possible to turn this thing into a quick release dual 80? I'm hoping I like the flex head on this ratchet. I have a craftsman quick release flex head with bent handle that I enjoy at home, but craftsman is a ball detent style. I...

    Choosing a mig gun

I have a lincoln weld pak 180hd, some how the gun vanished during a "remodel" of the shop. I am a big fan of the magnum 100l that it came with. It's small light weight and comfortable. Trying to find factory magnum 100l is proving to be hard since alot of aftermarket companies are using the same...

    Angle Grinders and Bench Grinders

We have a harbor freight bench grinder at the shop for several years we use a few times a month. Never had an issue with it.

Broken tools, photos and how they broke

No pictures, but probably the biggest tool I broke was a scotchman iron worker. We were doing a job punching thousands of holes. The pin and the rest of the punch mechanism shattered. I've also broken several sockets. Including mac impact dual sided socket 19/21mm. And 3 craftsman impact half...

    Vintage matco tool box

Another sad note. Never order anything from foam factory. I've never delt with such terrible people. And the locks matco sent me don't work on the cabinets. So I need to wait to hear back from them. Originally shorter and have a smaller square stock on the back for locking mechanisms

    Vintage matco tool box

So got the neoprene in yesterday. If you think that may be a good idea, it's not. Maybe if it was 1/4" thick. But the stuff I got is complete junk. Tears insanely too easy. It wasn't even holding up to handling marking and cutting. Think about tossing a screwdriver or wrench in there! They...

    Vintage matco tool box

I ordered 3 sheets of neoprene rubber 1/16x80x48. That should give me enough to do my drawers and maybe enough to do my dad's old craftsman box I use for reloading.

    Vintage matco tool box

If I would have known some of the rails were tweaked and I knew it was repainted I would have tried to talk him down. But I was in a rush as I was actually on my way to a graduation and was cutting it close on time. Those rails are really tricky to staighten out. One or 2 drawers have a little...

    Vintage matco tool box

Paraffin wax seems to work well. For kicks I loaded the deep drawer in the cabinet to the top. Seems to work smoother when loaded.

    Vintage matco tool box

Power washed, degreased, lubed, hand buffed and wax. Even though it's been re painted poorly. I still dig the old look to it. It has alot of character. I will grab my hammers and dollies and knock a few things straight though. The rails were so damn dirty sticky and gross. Washed them 3 times...

    Vintage matco tool box

The only cool thing I found when I pulled the drawers, was a old leather coach Keychain, gave it to the ol lady. The rest was junk. I washed the boxes and drawers today. Aswell as the rails. Took for ever! The rails were so sticky with old grease. Tomorrow I will reassemble and lube with either...

    Vintage matco tool box

I'm not sure if a mid box was available. Top box is 910a, bottom is 920a. I would think bottom box would be a 930a if a mid box was available? I don't like super tall boxes anyways. I'm 6'1 and hate reachin eye level and higher for tools.
