I believe it has to do with the type of connection used. Twisted connections apply different, less reliable forces to the materials than set screws do when it comes to expansion/contraction of the different metals.

Isolate the circuit and cut the wire that you want to remove about an inch or so from the fitting. Remove the leftover insulation and use a small pair of pliers to grab the bare wire, twisting it in one direction while pulling on it. That's the only way I've found to remove them.

I love mine as well! Way for features than I need or even know how to use at this time, but if I need to grow in the future, I won't have to source a different machine.
