Floating Shelves with Metal Dowel Rods

Yes - drilling the deep holes was definitely the trickiest part. The little alignment tool I used really helped, but I think I could have made a piece to be even better. Even with all that, it still took some good whacks with a rubber mallet.

Got a couple things done today. First a 3'X7' sheet of markerboard on the back of my pocket door frame. Now I need to remember to buy some markers - lol. And I correctly positioned my final shop light. It had been crooked since the day I put it up. Now time for a beer.

Finally got some slatwall up - 16' x 4' -- Progress is slow, but it's progress.

I skip the bitters but split the vermouth 50/50 between sweet and dry, usually with a rye.

So, I did something really cool today, and it was an original idea; doubly cool because it turned out so well. I'm not saying I'm the first to do it this way, but I didn't find anything online that was close. Anyway, we bought two live-edge oak pieces for floating shelves. The shelves are 2"...

Floating Shelves with Metal Dowel Rods

So, I did something really cool today, and it was a completely original idea; doubly cool because it turned out so well. I'm not saying I'm the first to do it, but I didn't find anyone online who had done it this way. Normally I'd post this in my garage gallery, but wanted this to have its own...

Finally did a little real work this weekend, adding FRP wall panels to the loft and the triangular sections to each side. Every day is a little bit of progress. Next step will be a 4' x 16' section of slatwall, and some shelving above that.

For the last year, the pallets from all of our construction materials have been stacked in the driveway by the end of the garage. I know my wife questioned whether I’d ever get rid of them, but tonight I finally cut them up for the perfect fire pit night with her!

    Triumph Four Post Lifts

Confirmation from National Auto Tools that the website (triumphliftus.com) was indeed a scam site. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is!

    Triumph Four Post Lifts

Greg’s - I know you’re at least partially right. Triumph is owned by National Auto Tools, so that website is not them. But it may be an authorized dealer, who has taken advantage of an online dba. I’m planning to call National Auto Tools and get some info. I’ll share if I learn anything.

    Triumph Four Post Lifts

I had a Titan (extra tall/long) and it was really solid. I never had a worry, but sold it with the house a few years ago. Now it’s time for another, and I was planning to go right back to Titan, but this sale price with Triumph has me thinking.

    Triumph Four Post Lifts

Does anyone have any experience with four post Triumph lifts? It appears they’re having a great sale right now, almost too good to be true, and so I wanted to see what information might be out there. Triumph, Titan, Atlas … there are lots of these Chinese constructed lifts, but for what I need...

I was very happy with the system. Part of my initial sense of security was that the company is based about 90 miles north of Minneapolis. I figured that if it was developed and worked there, then I should be fine. I set two thermostats, with two loops on the garage side (set to 50 degrees)...

Hi Boostin — I was very happy with Ryan and his guys. We made some changes along the way and the cost changes were appropriate - some increases and some decreases but very fair. Additionally he added a few nice touches, just because he thought it was the right thing. (Example - rebuilt a 30’...

My new garage finally made it to the satellite imagery on my iPhone. Weird that it's not yet showing on any of my laptop programs, but only my iPhone. Anyway, here is a before and after image, also with my initial photoshop of what I predicted it to look like. Before Prediction After

I still have a lot of finishing touches to do, so documenting a little bit every day. First of all, with this midwestern weather, we had a 50 degree drop overnight and the garage temp held steady, so I'm feeling pretty good about the heating system I put in -- and the insulation work I've done...
