    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Indianapolis - New 28X40 Garage/Pool house build

Just received my radiant heat system today. It's a completely new concept from HUG Hydronics, so I'll post some picture as I unpack and install it. It's got no pressure tank or manifolds, or any of that complicated stuff because it's not a sealed system. No copper anywhere. Imagine an...

Finally got hot water, and also ordered my hydronic radiant heat system from HUG Hydronics. They promised to ship the system in two weeks, so I’ll have it installed in plenty of time for the cold.

Back to back oil change and tire rotations for my son and daughter. Sure will be nice to get a lift again. (Maybe next spring)

So it's really nice to spend the afternoon working from my new garage (not necessarily on my new garage). BUT - it only reminds me of all the little things still left undone. While I did get a new outlet placed for the bug screen over the weekend, But I still need to (among other...

I snagged this banner my freshman year, and it spent 15 years on my fraternity and apartment walls. More recently my son had it in his college house, but it's been folded up on a toolbox for the past four years. Looks like a good spot to me!

HUG Hydronics Radiant In-Floor Heating System???

The more I learn about this system, the more I think I'm going to go with it. I'm hoping someone with some experience or opinions will chime in to help me with the decision.

I've been remiss in adding updates lately, so here goes. We finished the garage ceiling yesterday, and that was the last big item. I still have to add the water heater and the heating system for the radiant heat but that should be pretty simple. Concerning the ceiling, I used PVC panels from...

    RaceDeck Installed

With that lineup of cars, I doubt you’re out in much snow and slush - haha. In my case, the snow covered cars will be in the old garage, and this one reserved for others.

    RaceDeck Installed

We’ll find out this winter, though I won’t really have a comparison. I’d think RaceDeck would have some data, if they were willing to share.

HUG Hydronics Radiant In-Floor Heating System???

I'm looking at different radiant heat systems for my new garage, where I've already installed the pex loops in my new concrete. Does anyone have experience or know about Hug Hydronics (Hunt Utilities Group)? It's a different, simpler kind of system. Seems very innovative, but I'm looking for...

Almost finished with my patio, and glad to see things being used as planned — son is home for a couple days, hanging out and playing cards with his friends.

Got some more done this weekend. Finished up the garage floor, and putting a car in for the first time. Also laid out the decking for the patio side — haven’t screwed anything down yet, but you can get the idea.

A lot got done over the last five days - mainly my wife and me running around Nashville at a company meeting - lol. Anyway, our tile guy got the backsplash finished while we were gone, and I almost finished the garage floor tonight. Just a few edges and a back corner to sort out.

So my wife and I are leaving tomorrow morning for four days of a little R&R and company meetings. This afternoon our backsplash guy calls and says he’s ready but he has to do it Monday or wait until September 7. That means I have to get the backer board in place tonight. No one in Indianapolis...

Got the bug screen in yesterday. Easy to overlook when it's down -- not looking forward to when a dog or someone tries to walk right through it.

So I walked outside this evening, and my wife’s single footprint was on the concrete. No other steps or marks. What in the world caused this?

Yeah, yeah, I know. Actually I did start in the front and thought I had this accounted for, but by the time I got to where the garage door is, I'd overlooked the dropped down level where the garage door seats. What I really need are some 9" tiles. Or I could replace the 18" tiles on the back...

    RACEDECK Floors

Yeah, that might’ve worked, although that would’ve entailed cutting every tile on the back wall. I’m thinking I could replace the 18 inch reds on the back wall with 12 inch reds, and that would better align the front, but I’m not sure I want to rip it out and order a bunch of new tiles at this...
