    Small Welding Project

I have minimal welding experience, headers with very low miles, cracked AIR emission tubes and the HF 120v basic wire feed. The headers will be re- coated by Jet-Hot after. I have seen it said a new roll of quality wire will give good results with this welder. For mild steel ****** headers, is...

    Balljoint / Bushing sleeve needed.

I need a sleeve a bit larger than the largest of 3 that came with a HF C-clamp set years back (3 sleeves, 2 step adapters, 1 clamp.) The sleeve that's too small is 2.745 i,d,. The bushing I would like to work with (without using a grinder or chisel) is 2.8". My local Ace has galvanized pipe...

Taiwan 3/8" QR round head 72T interchange /rebuild kits

Most of the models that used to use a selector like the one in this ratchet: http://www.ebay.com/itm/172487122245 (I know that's 1/4, just referencing the look.) Have gone to a tri-bar selector. Are there any to watch out for that don't interchange? I am thinking the SK 43875 kit might...

Oscillating questions, Dremel Blade on HF tool and .

Couple quick questions for those who know. Will the Dremel Universal blades (like an MM485U) fit a 4-nib attachment-style HF oscillating tool like a HF 60428? Would that specific (carbide) blade, drug backwards at an angle, clear paint off concrete foundation? Thanks!

    Kenmoore Icemaker dead?

We have a 9.5yr old fridge. The ice maker hasn't worked since I replaced the dispenser arm for ice. (Plastic is your friend, but not on some designs.) Usually, I would think "last thing done is the likely culprit," but I don't know. Two observations:using the black wire towards bottom as neg...

    Retainer clip for 3/8" wand

Dad's pump up sprayer needs a clip for the sprayer wand. The attachment point is a triangle 3/16" thick with thicker vert. edge. The wand is 3/8" o.d. Is there one that will fit to both sides of the triangle and have 2 clip for the wand? OEM is pushing 20 buck w/ shipping.

4-Way VS. 1/2" Breaker in your trunk tools.

I've carried a 4-way because I had one & it comes in handy and works. But I have an extra flex handle / breaker bar & the sockets to fit everything. It fits handily in the plastic box I got from Cripes a while back. There's probably a little torque advantage to having two hands on a 4-way vs...

    Phillips # 3 with 200mm < blade length < 450mm

I've put a fair amount of (on-the-clock :o ) research time into this. Apparently, there's something utterly perfect about #3 Phillips screwdrivers blade length of about 6" or 150mm. It's what everyone offers. What's your theory on why? I've found PB Swiss offers a 200mm (a bit under 8") # 3...

Tell me what you can about this garage

I am square footage poor with our current garage (and home.) So a property with attached garage plus outlying shop building is tempting. The attached are pictures of a property's garage that's not totally far away. I mostly want a place to do car stuff. A bench for transmission builds is an...

Dewalt DWE575sb cordless in DW364K box

Might anyone know if the cordless 575 saw would fit well in the box for the DW364K saw? And what kind of blade storage it would have? Dad's shopping for cordless and is a fan of cleanliness and storage. :) He knows the 575 comes with the bag. I googled a bit, but I'm more into automotive...

Danaher ? Craftsman / Vermont American Bit Driver handle cap

Do you know where to find a replacement cap like this? As far as I know, this one is the same lineage as the Craftsman I have (clear acetate, blue lower section, red stripes, white cap.) Which, doesn't show a Craftsman part number, but is also a magnetic 1/4" bit driver.

    Unlocking An Excel Lower box

Well, after turning the key so drawers could open, I foolishly set the keys in the top drawer. And closed it. This is a new-to-me box. Probably originally sold in Ohio. I don't recall whether it's a re-labeled version of a different brand (that might lead me to more search results.) But I'd...

    AC Hose adapter

I'd like to know what I need to connect the yellow hose on: My R12 gauges / hoses, or My Mastercool gauges / hoses (with two R134 adapters) to: The venturi vac. pump fitting below. Preferably purchasable on Sunday. Yes, I know HF is a sin, I'm going to be doomed for not renting / buying a real...

    Cutting 1/2" plate

I have easy access (owner said "take it!") to a 4' x 5' piece of steel. Very few drilled holes. My immediate thought is workbench / trans. teardown bench. As I don't have acres of space, it would need trimmed; maybe approximately in half. However, I lack a way to cut it. In taking it somewhere...

Snap-On Soft Handled Ratcheting Screwdriver Owners

I've asked this in a couple related threads without a concrete answer. When I disassemble my hard handle ratcheting SSDMR4B, the female square drive has straight, flat, smooth walls. Are the walls of the soft-handled ratcheting drivers divoted for spring-loaded ball retention? Thanks.
