A lot depends on what tools you will run and how you'll run them. One compressor might be GREAT for years, until that time you decide to strip some body panels to metal with a DA sander. Also depends on the tools themselves - old / new, are they air hogs etc. FWIW a co worker bought the IR...

The new cowl vent came in. Apparently staring at it did NOT enable it to self install. Broke out the backpack blower and lines up piles of leaves to mulch them up with the mower. Got the cowl vent cover installed.

My favorite Gen VFR. Great all around bike. There's a decent looking one that's parking under a carport I pass regularly. Suppressing the urge to stop and ask about it. Between that and the cheap late 90s Superhawk that keeps popping up on FB marketplace.....the struggle is real.

If it's stupid and it works...it ain't stupid. Just saying. Maybe you'll get a nice new table saw out of the deal.

I think a lot of this is impacted by how often someone is cutting metal. Almost anything can work now and again, but if it's going to be done routinely, that's when more dedicated solutions / tools come into play. Just my opinion.

All the "It's dangerous" posts - I can't help but laugh. I grew up poor. You did what you had to do to get it done. Would I do that to a table saw I cared about? Probably not. But then again, I wouldn't bother to pull it out. I've got a 20+ year old Skil Brand circular saw with blade designed...

I go through rolls of blue shop towel and tubs of towels regularly as well. Grease, oil , gas, rust, dirt etc.

That reminds me - when I helped my FIL clear his shop out (of 40 years) I ended up with an old Makita 4" angle grinder that looks new, but it's missing the backing plate and the lock nut. Maybe I'll remember now to finally search out the parts so I can use it.

Bought this fluid extractor a while back (you can use your compressor or the manual pump) and it works great.

Two contractor trash bags. One under each tire. Before folding them over spray some Pam or cooking spray or WD-40 or something of the like so the bags will easily move and swivel on themselves with almost no resistance. This allows easy adjustment with car suspension at ride height / loaded...
