Can you request for a building inspector to come to your property?

In my county the building inspector does buildings only. Septic/sewer is all run through the health department and a phone call gets all the answers needed.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Wrapped up the mods to my Harbor Freight welding cart over the weekend. Only thing left is to ditch the rear wheels in favor of a pair of wheels off my tool chest. I removed the center shelf and used it as a base to hold two bottles. Built a double holder and used the upright to hold tig rod.

Size of Attached Garage and Resale Value

All but one of our houses had large, oversize garages and each time we sold it was a big selling feature. Our last house had 1,050 sq foot garage, when the buyers looked at it my truck was in it and they were sold. He said if my crew cab 2500HD fit he was happy. The truck was in the shallower...

Easy to use push to connect air hose fittings?

I'll be placing an order soon. If they are what everyone says they are I'll show the guys at the hose shop I managed. They are always looking for better products to offer their customers.

Easy to use push to connect air hose fittings?

I don't know why I come to this site, all you people do is cost me money! I have a hodge podge of couplers now but I rarely use air with all the rechargeable tools available so I haven't worried about it. Still would be nice to have good couplers though. When I get to plumbing the new garage...

9V battery danger, yeah, it’s real

I keep new batteries in their package and wrap old ones with electrical tape before disposal.

Looking for a concrete resurfacing product

Good to know. Our builder used a concrete guy that thought pouring our drive way in one go on a 100 degree day was a good idea. He did a **** job and won't come to see it and receive his *** chewing.

How the heck can I lose two caulk guns?

Thankfully the one I have is just an 1850 that needs rebuilt, nothing special or expensive!

How the heck can I lose two caulk guns?

I miss placed a Holley carburetor when we moved. Here's how it relates, I have needed my caulk gun and grabbed it out of the tote it was in twice and used it. Opened the tote over the weekend, the caulk gun is sitting on top of the damn carb! Guess I only saw what I needed to see.

“Full custom” 1960s influenced Garage Build

Has a similar layout to my grandpa's Union 76 for the 60's-70's. It's a dream of mine to have a building like he did but as cool as it would be it won't happen. I have found one that is sitting empty but it's a long way from home and in rough shape. Now let's talk about that avatar, are you...

    Bench vice test to failure

Came across this video today, pretty cool how he tested them. Really solidifies the value of older vices.

Tell your stories about your dad's garage adventures

My dad was a carpenter, had no use for a garage so he turned it into a family room.

We are getting close, fortunately we aren't getting bit by the covid shortages. All the appliances are in the garage as are all the light fixtures.

    PSA- Wedding ring safety

Mine is deformed, it took a hit and my finger didn't get crushed. Guess there are arguments for both but I have been giving a lot of thought to getting a silicone ring or maybe my first tattoo. The latter would probably be as bad as getting her name inked, get it done then she'll say **** it and...

Above 1200 Sq/FT New digs, bigger garage!

We were fortunate to be able to get a lot wide enough for the house. The builder is in three different areas in town and where we wanted to land they only had one lot big enough. There were two others considering the lot but we jumped first. It's also at the end of a culdesac so we won't have...
