Has anyone purchased a Motive pressure brake bleeder recently? Is the quality still there?

I just grab some 12ga wire and twist up a correctly sized adapter to the J hooks. Easier than the chains for me.

Tankless water heater on the fritz again....time to install a real one.

Been there, done that. Put on a new hand shower head for my wife. Started having the "time out, cold water" during showers. Took it off and put the old one back (no restrictors) and problem stopped. Reviewed the Rennai tankless manual and it tells you clearly what the minimum water flow...

Tankless water heater on the fritz again....time to install a real one.

Change the shower head or remove the restrictor. Problem solved. Low flow shower heads cause this.

    About Bleeding Brakes.

Pressure bleeding with a pump up pressure bottle (pump up sprayer) into the reservoir is pretty easy. Pressure bottle keeps the reservoir full, pressure pushes the fluid. Just crack each bleeder in turn until no bubbles. One man job.

Cold Formed 40x50x14 vs Red Iron (hey Readhead)

In Texas, red iron buildings are as common as dirt. I always found a turn key contractor. The question I always ask is do you want to use the building structurally to support lofts, overhead hoists, etc. My shop has a 30x20 loft area that is clear span (no posts) and a 1 ton traveling...

    How much lean is dangerous?

In my experience, they will lean forever....until they don't. They could literally be there the rest of your life, or they could come down tomorrow. That said, I have lost more straight trees to straight line winds than I have leaners. Saturated ground makes it worse, as does gusting wind...

    Meross Smart Garage Opener

The Bean said: A lot of HOAs nowadays require personal garages to be left open during the day (9-5). Soon, they'll ban garage doors altogether. Every one I know off required them to be closed.

    Meross Smart Garage Opener

Close, but no cigar. I need true cellular access to control my gate. No WIFI at that location. I have found a couple...

Overhead garage controller, too high to reach to program additional fobs

Open it up and copy the dip switch settings to clone the remote. I'm surprised a commercial place would still use that old technology. Way too easy to steal the codes. Time for an upgrade. Your insurance carrier would probably insist if they knew.

    M18 battery diagnostics hacked

It was years ago. I switched to Milwaukee, and they have been perfect.

    Paste wax options?

I probably have 5 or 6 partial cans sitting around the shop, each with a rag stuffed inside.

    M18 battery diagnostics hacked

I dumped Makita for this very issue, bricked batteries when nearly new, just because they sat a while. By the way, a non-Makita charger with clips would charge them just fine.

Do I need a new or bigger Mini Split

I have a 36k MrCool in 1200sf. The building has 4" fiberglass metal building wrap plus another 8" on the roof. I have a bunch of windows on the north and east. 12x12 overhead door is insulated facing south. If i kick MrCool into Turbo mode, I can get it comfortable in 20 minutes. My unit...

    Texas Ramp Project

They can be very long depending on the height. The limiting factor is a 5 degree slope. We can't build for any public buildings because ADA is different for those than for private residences.

    Texas Ramp Project

I joined a group recently that builds wheelchair ramps for low income clients at no cost. The team consists of retired Christian men that are willing to do manual labor, design, project management, etc. Funded by donations and some charitable connections like United Way. Today was my 3rd...

Ordering a red iron steel building, what to NOT forget?

I always worked with a turnkey builder rather than ordering material. Think about what all you want and have it engineered in. I had a 1 ton overhead hoist on a traveler and a 30x20 free standing loft put in my last one.

Drill press handle ‘hub’, how to remove from shaft?

You can likely find a real DP600 shaft on OWWM.org under BOYD (Bring Out Your Dead)

Can I make my curbs 6” taller?

So, if you build on a hill above the street your building would only be 2 feet tall? Something isn't right.
