Hollow Handle (Wooden, also Steel) Combination Tool and Bits

I just picked up these small, medium and large hollow handle combination tools. The small one has sixteen bits and a rather unique mechanism (similar to bbbarracuda's) to hold them. I can twist the holder tight by hand or certainly by pliers. I believe the handle is some type of fruit wood. The...

More than just adjustable wrenches, post up your vintage Crescent tools

Here are my Crescent screwdrivers so far: K406, K306, K403, K403 aluminum handle, K302, two folding screwdrivers (1 patent pending). I, like Don, love the wood handle ones, although the others are cool in their own right.

Show your Indestro and Duro-Chrome tools

I thought I would post up my Indestro No. 35 1/2" drive hex socket set. It has seven sockets total, but five of them look original with the double star sides and unique numbering style (15-16, 7-8, 3-4, 5-8, 1-2). They are all 6-point with cove-cut detail (one photo shows another socket with a...

Hollow Handle (Wooden, also Steel) Combination Tool and Bits

Just inherited this from my great grandfather. It is a cocobolo handle with all ten bits. The nickel plating is a little rough, but in general it is in very good condition. Based on the research from Boringgeoff above, I can not tell if it is a Type 1 or Type 4 set, not that it really...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Would any of you know anything about this style Big-baby Wilton 925 vise? I had never seen anything like it, although one just popped up on eBay. It has a 4" extension that I originally thought was just a user adaptation. The eBay one looks remarkably similar, although it is a different...

    Old logo ID markings guide

I posted this first on an older thread, but thought this one might get more views. I am working on restoring an older pair of cast shelves for one of my daughters. When I took off the many layers of paint, I came across the trademark or logos you see here. The first looks like a "Y and an M...

I have to admit I have been envious of others when they received the “You ****” accolade. Other compliments are good, but the You **** somehow brings a new level of pride, and I even received the coveted doublesuck award too! Thanks guys.

    Unknown Trademarks and logos

I am working on restoring an older pair of cast shelves for one of my daughters. When I took off the many layers of paint, I came across the trademark or logos you see here. The first looks like a "Y and an M with a candy cane in the middle". On the doves, there is a second trademark/logo...

Beautiful AW. I think you caught it perfectly and thank-you for the detailed directions and link to the proper type of paper. I will do my best, but I may need a few practice sheets before I get it right!

    Vintage Vise Emblems/Sticker/Decals

Hi AW: I am restoring my Athol #023 1/2 vise. If you have time to work on the image/artwork, I would very much appreciate it. Here are a few photos from other vises that should give you a start. The decal is only about 2" diameter, if that makes a difference. Thanks AW.
