Here is the opposite thought to people who live in area that are prone to sustained power outages. Pick a room in your house that will be your "after the storm room". You need to be able to separate it from the rest of the house (door or heavy blankets covering the entrance). In that room you...

Does Radiant Floor heat make sense

3 areas and 3 different needs

That is a huge space ! Is the living space walled off and insulated from the rest of your shed ? Both of these areas are good candidates for a mini-split heat pump system. Easy installation compared to forced air with A/C. You will need 2 air handlers and a system that will let them run...

Does Radiant Floor heat make sense

For profit, meaning you are going to sell it, or are you going to run a business from it ? If you are selling the building, just go with gas forced air. Recovery time has a lot to do with how cold the interior got ! Use a set back thermostat and don't go below 55°F. 2" will slow down heat...

Can ac electric “leak” to ground?

This could be "ghost voltage". You need to check the voltage across a small load (7W bulb) or use a meter with a low impedance (Lo Z) setting.

    Minisplit capacity case study

I know I am late to the game but I want to make one quick comment. If you are planning to run refrigerant and water lines inside the walls, the wall should be a minimum 6" (2x6) even on interior walls. It will make your installation easier.
