LED bulbs that successfully work with electric Garage Door Openers

I see your point about they are only on a short time, but in my case I have two reasons to disagree. 1. I do a lot of work outside of my garage with my doors open. Every time I walk through the light beam at the doors trips the light and turns it back on. With the dogs out there with me it...

No, sorry, the top is still leaning against the wall, other projects have taken precedence lately.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

$500 limit on cars and modifications, officials can dock you laps for every $10 they believe you are over, and per the rules your car must be available for sale at $500 after the race. Don't fudge $1000 car as $500 unless you are prepared to lose it. Anything safety related is exempt-wheels...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

On Saturday, hung out in the garage all morning with my daughter, we had to keep out of mommy's way because she was having one of those 31 handbag/pampered chef etc sales parties in the house. We didn't get much done, but she did help me clean up a few things and brain storm some future...

    Electric heat may effectiveness

32 Story? :eyecrazy: I have no experience with the heat mays? mats? But I do have a new construction with two bay windows roughly the same size, one in the kitchen and one in the master bath. Both cantilevered about 4' off the ground, rest of the house is over a crawlspace. Both are well...

HF hose reel lead in question

Exactly. A 1/4" NPT fitting has close to the same inner diameter of a 3/8" hose. Use a 3/8" hose with 1/4" fittings and you should see an increase in flow.

Lessons learned of a fire in the garage

For the average Joe with just a rag here and there, when you are done with it hang it outside in the open to dry in the sun. Make sure it is laid out flat or hanging, not folded up. It may take a while, but once the rag feels "dry" and stiff, just throw it in with your garbage ON COLLECTION DAY...

Bayco retractable extension cord reel (ceiling or wall mount), $14 clearance at Wal-M

Nothing in my local WalMart, Lowes had the same one for $28, they also had a 15' 14g reel for $64 normal $80, I'll keep an eye on to see if it goes any lower.

    Craftsman C3 19.2-Volt Cordless 1/2" Wrench Kit-Experience

Same experience I had. Ripping 4x8 sheets of MDF, one pass would kill a NiCad battery, my compact lithiums would do a little better, but any little bind would stop the saw and you could tell it was struggling. The XCP battery powered through like it was nothing.

Lessons learned of a fire in the garage

Glad it was no worse than it was. You were blessed that the wife was home and calmly took care of it. The reason being mineral oils are fully saturated, animal and vegetable oils are unsaturated, meaning there are open positions for oxygen atoms to bond easily. As oxygen bonds the oil oxidizes...

Wheel Weights? Which to get? Also What to charge for work?

My tire guy charges $10 per tire mount/balance. Local chain stores charge between $15-20 around here per tire. Check out the prices of other shops in your area and base it off that.

    Craftsman C3 19.2-Volt Cordless 1/2" Wrench Kit-Experience

Nope, I don't know if the circuitry in the Lithium Battery or the charger itself would even allow it to try take a charge. Lithiums must be charged with a constant current until the voltage reaches the desired point then trickles down. NiCad is charged with a constant voltage until the current...

    Craftsman C3 19.2-Volt Cordless 1/2" Wrench Kit-Experience

I first got my 19.2V set (pre C3 days) way back around 2002 I think, not long after the 19.2 line was introduced. The drill/light set with one battery. The next year my dad got me the drill/sawzall/circular saw/light set with two NiCad batteries. I think those lasted around 5 years, I replaced...

    Craftsman C3 19.2-Volt Cordless 1/2" Wrench Kit-Experience

Don't buy the lithium XCP battery by itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For starters any of the Lithium batteries use a different charger than the NiCads, the charger alone is $45. You can get the basic Lithium compact batt and charger together for $70, but it's performance is the same as the...

    Craftsman C3 19.2-Volt Cordless 1/2" Wrench Kit-Experience

I can't speak for that one, but I have the newer upgraded 300ft*lb Lithium XCP model vs that 200ft*lb one. But I do have older 19.2v (pre C3) tools with the NiCad batteries. I've gone through and replaced half a dozen NiCad batteries over the last 12 years and they are junk compared to the...

    Lowe's Clearance Thread 2014

Type M is thinner wall, but should still be sufficient for compressed air especially if smaller bore. The bigger you go the lower it's pressure rating is. Personally if I was plumbing it, anything 3/4" or bigger would be L, smaller would be plenty fine for M, or anything regulated would be fine M.

    Pawn shop score #387

I had an old Craftsman friction slide box that hadn't been tended to in years, they were difficult to pull and would snag as you pulled the drawers. I was cleaning the box up to sell so I sprayed them down with WD-40 and gave them a good rub to clean them, then just coated them with white...
