Tools that rarely get used anymore

For me its got to be Vise Grips. I only own 3 pair, but I NEVER use them anymore. A close second is the Traditional Adjustable wrench, I own a set of the Channellock brand with the black Phosphate coating, but ever since I purchased the Knipex Pliers wrench, my Adjustables haven't been moved.

    Quick grab socket set.

Making up a small quick grab socket set (3/8 drive). I have a Lisle 3/8 magnetic socket carrier, it holds both shallow and deep sockets. Should I carry 3/8 Metric Shallow on one side and 3/8 Metric deep on the other? OR 3/8 Metric Shallow with 3/8 SAE Shallow. This is just for a quick...

    S.O. Ratcheting screwdriver

Almost pulled the trigger a time or two, really like the long versions. Are they worth the coin? Are they magnetic tip? If so is it a strong magnet that will hold fasteners well?

    Quick Release ratchets

Got my new Snap on ratchet (my 1st ever snap on) out to use for the first time the other day model FHLL80. The task involved some oily fluids and switching back and forth between different sized sockets. When it came time to remove the socket with my oily fingers, man that was tough. First...

    Flex combination wrenches

Do you guys use them much? I have a super nice set of SK both metric and SAE but rarely find that I need them. Seems like I hardly ever reach for them in the tool drawer. Only 1 time I can remember of actually needing one when another wrench or socket wouldn't do the job. ** Edit: in the...

Need to buy a Serpentine belt tool. Looks Like I can either get a $30 tool at Autozone, which has some negative reviews for breaking, or Something Like a Bluepoint/Snap on off ebay (used) for around $85. The Bluepoint is a ratcheting type with interchangeable sockets. I've never owned or...

    Which tool for cutting Aluminum?

Got a small project to finish on my aluminum Bass Boat. I will be making some trim cuts in the aluminum Decking on the front deck, the decking looks to be about 1/8" thickness, and seems to be fairly sturdy. I need to make Two 5" cuts, One 2" cut, and possibly another 10" cut, they will all...

    1/2 " Impact Wrench

Looking at getting an Impact wrench for homeowner general use, like for when I rotate tires, removing wheels to inspect brakes, etc. I have several tools in the Dewalt 20v line, Dewalt offers a 1/2" impact in this cordless version, which I guess the portability would be handy for on the road...

    Kobalt Ratchet

Anyone use this ratchet? http://http://images.lowes.com/product/converted/099198/099198858708sm.jpg I was handling it today at Lowe's, it had a nice ergonomic fit to it, I just wondered about the internals quality of the ratcheting mechanism and if it was of decent quality. Sorry, cant get...

Ratchet preferance fixed or flex head

In general, which style do you find most comfortable, the flex head ratchets or the one piece fixed head? Is a universal joint a good substitute for a flex head ratchet? I have 3 USA Craftsman flex head ratchets, but find myself using my standard fixed head Craftsman ratchet most of the time...
