Looking for a Road Chest....or three

It may just be because I live in an area with numerous mechanics programs but there have been two late model Snap On's with the cage come up for sale locally on Craigslist. These Road chests are pretty popular around here. Most of the ag dealers work out of a pickup so most shop mechanics also...

Looking for a Road Chest....or three

I have been looking at that. They used to make a six drawer also. I'm going to buy a box for my friend to swap out some work. The JD is looking like a great option.

Looking for a Road Chest....or three

I've got a Montazuma and my friend was running two of the knockoffs. They are a good option if all you have is a basic set of tools. I've got to the point where it's kind of an Easter egg hunt trying to find my speciality stuff piled in the bottom. Now with metric I either need to add another...

Looking for a Road Chest....or three

Besides the truck brands and extreme, what options are there when it comes to road chests? Price is a factor with a $1,000 to $1,200 max which is a simple choice to me. Find a used late model Snap On. Now the tricky part. I have a friend who wants to replace two medium sized wedge style boxes...

    Inexpensive USA made Air Hammer?

You will use it a lot more than you can imagine. I got one in a toolbox full of tools and it went from what in the hell is this to one of my favorite tools. I would be looking at the ingersoll rand kits at around $100.00 if it was me. Made in the USA is tough with air tools and a low budget.

    Any chainsaws in your shop?

A used 488 shindiawa could be a fairly cheap solution.

    Any chainsaws in your shop?

I'm about 99.99% sure the stihl's with the orange handle will be homeowner grade and white handle will be pro saws.

"Whats your favorite tool and why?"

I would say my M18 3/8 impact. It's as handy as a pocket on a shirt.

    Ratchet advice

On eBay the crescent 1/4 and 3/8 roto ratchet combo's can be found for around $25.00 shipped and the gearwrench 1/4 and 3/8 ratchet combos can be found for around $40.00. That's 4 ratchets for half your budget if you can live with the handles on the crescents...

What do you guys all think of fluid film

+1 on killing ring worms. As far as the science of its ring worm killing ability....it's probably the Lanolin. Sheep with wool don't get ring worms. That wool is full of Lanolin.

    MyCanic. Does anyone use this?

Thanks for the reply JonnyMac. In your development work do you write your on software or do you use MyCanics? What does the MyCanic software allow you to do? In reading the MyCanic manual it looks like a code reader that can record up to six different parameters. I was wondering what doors the...

    MyCanic. Does anyone use this?

I'm adding scanning abilities to my toolbox and MyCanic looks interesting. Does anyone use this and what does it actually do:dunno: Johnny Mac loves it but hasn't went into much detail when recommending it other than its more useful than IDS on a Ford. My main interest is A Ford 6.0...

Snap On Chisel Scraper with Wood Handle

The new ones don't look as smooth or finished as I remember. I had one of these about 15 years ago. They are a great tool around heavy equipment, using a hammer you can cut a big heavy gasket down pretty quick.

Snap On Chisel Scraper with Wood Handle

Thanks, I found it. If we had a Snap On rep buying tools would be a lot easier.

Snap On Chisel Scraper with Wood Handle

That's it. A really thick heavy scraper you can sharpen and use a hammer on. Does Snap On make those or is there a different OEM? Would you happen to have a part number? Thanks.

Snap On Chisel Scraper with Wood Handle

Does anyone remember the old wooden handled chisel scraper snap on used to make? I can't find one....on EBay. Was there a different OEM who made these? I never noticed in the Tool Truck thread. Thanks for the help.
