Hey i had the thumb wheel and the 6 inch. I have needed the slim 3/8 flex and a 1/4 thumb wheel so i swit hed them. And i thought it was cool.

Take a 6 inch flex head and remove the ratcheting mechanism. Take 3/8thumbwheel ratchet and remove ratcheting mechanism. Swap 3/8 with the 1/4 and bam, you got a compact 3/8 6 inch slim flex head ratchet.

Look at the dang wrench. If it looks like a spline then call it a spline. If it has corners that form 6 or 12 points then it is a 6 or 12 point box end. Kobalt makes a spline wrench that they call a universal 12 point. But believe me its a spline.

You can use spline wrenches on 12 pt hdwr but not any sort of 12 pt wrench on a spline fastener. Go to work and try it. You'll see.
