Insulating above the ceiling, adding a metal ceiling

I have a metal building with wood framing. This building is 36’x84’x11’ high. Right now I have no ceiling and the only insulation below the metal roof is 1/4” of bubble insulation with a metallic radiant side. This was installed mainly to keep the metal from developing condensation. What’s the...

    Lightning strike. Friday, 13, 2014

We had a lightning strike hit a tree, 40' from the house and about 20' from our well. My wife actually saw sparks come out of a CGFI outlet right in front of her. The well pump's control box was blown open. I replaced the control box later that afternoon and was lucky enough to have the pump...

New field for a Baldor 500 Tool Grinder

I purchased a 1hp Baldor Grinder, along with a Model 500 Tool Grinder at auction a while back. After setting them up (they came installed on a back to back heavy duty base), I tried them out. It turns out that the tool grinder's field is fried, I don't know if the armature is also. Is there a...

    Reduced Wattage T8

As the title states, I'm looking to retrofit about 200, 2'x4' T12 Fixtures, to the more modern Reduced Wattage T8 ballasts and bulbs. Duke Energy is the electric company that we use and this is the system that qualifies for their rebate program. Does anyone here know which lamps and ballasts...

    T12 to T5 retrofit kit

I would like to get rid of over 100, T12 4-4'lamps and retrofit them to T5 2-4' lamps. These lamps are currently used in an office building I just purchased. The ceilings are about 8' in height. Some of these lights are on 24/7, thus my electric bill is over $40,000.00 a year. I'm looking for...

outgrew my 65'x36' shop and 50'x48' pole barn

I outgrew my 65'x36' shop and 50'x48' pole barn I built a hobby shop and open pole barn 9 moths ago. I wanted more space but thought that with today's economy, anything you build probably is worth less than you invested once you are finished. Well, I have moved most of my stuff in the shop and...

    ZEp cleaner

I just picked this parts cleaner, I found it on CL. It needs to have the lid refinished, there's surface rust on the untainted metal surfaces, however it has never been used, it is the 35 gallon model. I will be using it in my newly built hobby shop (36'x85'x12'). The cleaner ZEP recommends is...
