    Another Adhesive Remover Thread

I was just reading the adhesive removal thread where the OP is removing flooring for a new Taco Shop (or Tacoma Shop if you read the thread early on). I need to remove Gorilla Tape residue from a rubber window gasket. I broke the rear quarter window on my Jeep Cherokee a few months ago, and due...

    Android App for measuring light

I've seen mention of Android Apps that measure light intensity. Are there any particular apps that you could recommend? I've seen a couple of screen shots on this site of Easy Light Meter. Any others? I want to get some objective measurements of my shop lighting before and after upgrading. Thanks!

    Is this to code?

I replaced a light switch with an Intermec timer switch this past weekend. This is in a new home, just built this year. First thing I found was incorrect labeling in the breaker box. OK, got my wife to watch the light upstairs while I flipped breakers. Solved. Second was a stripped screw...

    Help diagnosing HVAC

OK, first, I admit it, I screwed up and probably caused this problem. I changed out our thermostat over the weekend. We had a 5/2 programmable with manual heat/cool switching, and I changed over to a 7 day programmable with auto heat/cool. Both were Honeywell thermostats. I did this early in...

Weatherstrip on new garage door install

My wife and I are having a new home built, and it's almost to the point of being complete. The garage doors were installed last week and I'm not seeing any weatherstrip installed along the sides and tops of the door frames. It is possible that the installer will be coming back to do that, but...

ID and value on this drill press

I've been watching our local CL equivalent for a drill press that would work well with metal. Currently I only have a cheap HF unit, and I get aggravated at it. I spotted this drill press today. No details on a make or model and I can't get there to look at it until at least this evening. They...

    Good quality breaker bar

I'm in need of a good quality 1/2" drive 24" or longer breaker bar. While I want good quality, it will be used seldom enough that I would like to stay under $100 for this. I can get SK or Proto for about $65 new. Or Matco, Mac, or Snap-On used for around $75 to $90. Much more for the Snap-On...

    Fair price for additional outlets

My wife and I are having a new home built (with a LARGE garage!). I'm having them install a secondary breaker box in the garage so that I can add things later without having to run things to the basement. This has already been priced out as an extra, and I felt the price was fair. But, I also...

    Lurker becoming an active member

Hi I've been reading and lurking on this board for a long time. It seems like there is always a link to here on a couple of car forums I belong to. Now my wife and I are starting construction on a new home, and I've specified a 6 car garage with ceilings tall enough for a lift. I figure I'll...
