2016 Mustang GT with a 1967 Fairlane body

I drove the two cars into the shop almost 2 years ago. Once I realize the pinch welds along the bottom of both cars were the same width. I took everything off outside the pinch welds of the Mustang and inside the pinch welds of the Fairlane. I was able to slide the Fairlane over the Mustang...

Ice building up under outside unit

My neighbor keeps going out with a weed burner and melting the ice that's built up under his outside heating unit. Is this something that happens and it won't be a problem or is there something wrong with the unit? See picture.

    Is my socket drawer wormy?

Most of the work I do is on 60s and early 70s Ford cars and I have this hodgepodge of sockets. I made this to hold the sockets I use the most, each row is a size. At the bottom of the picture are the metric sockets I use the most. It's 16 gauge sheet metal with steel rod dowels which are tig...

Replaced an old shed with a larger one

I decided to remove an old shed and build a new one. We poured the pad on May 3rd, I started framing it on the 15th. Got the doors done today except for a latch. All I have to do is build a loft and paint it. The door frames are made from 1x2 channel, I'm new at TIG welding so it was a good...

Another keeping compressor noise down thread

I've always had my compressor outside, bought a new one and I didn't want to go to all the work of installing it there. It also has a tube running over to a ball valve to drain the water so it would surely freeze in the winter. The new one is in an OSB box with two thicknesses of sound board...

I want to move my rack and pinion

I want to move my rack and pinion over toward the driver’s side 1/4 inch. I had to raise the motor 1/4 inch so the steering shaft would clear the headers and I’d rather not. Anyone know of any problems this could cause?

Need help with a pipe fitting

My hose reel came with a lead in hose with a 3/8 fitting on it. I need an adapter so I can connect it to this 1/2 inch pipe. Will this work? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013RXHLV2/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Hose reel hose size, 3/8 or 1/2 inch.

Anyone go with a 3/8” air hose reel and wish they’d gone with 1/2”? I just bought a replacement compressor and it has a 1/2 inch outlet. I'm doing a lot of body panel work and will be painting.

    70 Mercury Cyclone Hood Scoop

This is my first try at making something like this. I want to make the hood scoop functional and plan on making a plenum that mounts to the bottom of the hood that will match up to the other half which will be around the air cleaner. The stock trim is zink die-cast and would never hold the...

    Off road engine hoist

I installed these tires on my engine hoist last weekend. First thing was to take a 351 Cleveland out to this graveled compound to pressure wash before it's disassembled. It worked pretty well. Now I need to take it apart round off all the edges and paint the new parts. Darn, wanted this...

First attempt fixing panel gap (no body filler)

I usually use body filler but I have the time so I decided to try adding material and grinding it down. I did around a foot of the gap on the door yesterday and it turned out pretty good. This morning I did the top of the door and took some pictures. I used a damp rag to keep the metal cool...

    Slabjack

My sister purchased a new to her house last year. The driveway had settled really bad so I call a company called Slabjack Geotechnical. Here are a couple pictures of the before and after. I will try to get a better after picture but I'm really impressed. Now we'll see if it holds up, they...

Slab concrete crack fix, anyone tried it?

I looked on Amazon, the reviews are mixed, some say it works great some had a problem with it not setting up. One guy said it was still tacky after 10 days. I have some cracks in my driveway after a dump truck made many trips over it when we were building our addition. I always figured...

Was this code back in the 80s?

I moved a wall switch today and this is what I found. When I removed the tape there was a grounding cap and the wires were twisted together just like you would connect ground wires. I replaced all outlets and switches years ago when I didn’t know better. My house was built in the 80s, was...

Need help with a new Craftsman Garage Door Opener

I installed a craftsman garage door opener today. I installed a regular illuminated doorbell button next to the door so I can hit it when standing next to the door. It won’t work, when I short the wires together it also doesn’t work. Does it need some kind of resistance to activate the...

    Moved my compressor outside today

I built this box from material I had lying around. The box has two 4 inch holes near the bottom and five 2 in holes at the top. When it really gets hot I figured I’d just leave the top open when using it. It’s a small Craftsman 25 gallon, is this going to cause any trouble with the compressor?
