    Basement Flooring Options?

My 1000 sqft basement is 1/2 workshop, 1/4 home gym, 1/4 storage and mechanicals. House was built in the 1900s, basement is fairly dry, except after heavy rain it gets damp and a couple spots get very little water infiltration, not even standing puddles, but you can see at one of the edges the...

Max Jax install - drilled hole in wrong position, now what?

I guess the drill walked and I drilled one of the holes off by about 1/8" and can't get it to line up. I suppose I could get more anchors and just drill 2 new holes and shift it over. How safe would it be to ream out the hole on the baseplate of the max jax? I suppose I could get a file or...

    MaxJax motorcycle lift hitting exhaust

so Just got my first bike, a 99 harley sportster, and I wanted to throw it up on my maxjax (I was an early buyer so it's the original maxjax prior to any revisions) to assist in doing some basic maintenance. I put on the motorcycle adapter, lined up the bike, and noticed that it'd hit the...

    Anyone ever hear of Spartacote?

I've been getting prices for epoxy floorings for a new garage and I had this guy give me a quote for Spartacote and it was literally twice what most epoxy guys are giving me ($3.50-4.00/sqft vs $7.50/sqft). Why is this product so much more expensive? I searched here and didn't find much on...

Foundation for new garage poured short

The guy I hired to pour the foundation poured the footings last week, they garage will now be 6" less wide on both sides. So now I loose a foot of floor space. I only realized it because I went out and measured it to double check his work. I'm really not happy about this. I haven't even told...

    YACT (Yet Another Compressor Thread)

I am a crazy enthusiast, this will be for my home. I have your standard arsenal of air tools, cut off wheels, die grinders, I just added a sand blasting cabinet to the mix, and I plan on doing some light HVLP work in the near future, after that who knows. I primarily work on cars. I'm not...

Looking for thoughts on heating the garage

My garage is roughly 25x30x10. This is for residential use by your average gearhead. I'll be lucky to use it 1 or 2 nights a week, so i'm looking for something that will heat up fast. I'd probably like quick recovery for when i open the garage door as well. From what I understand 45k btu...

MaxJax: what's supposed to be included?

I got my MaxJax a couple months ago and never gave much thought to what I was supposed to get with it. But remembered it was supposed to come with a lift point guide, which I never got. Is the motor cycle adapter supposed to be a standard feature? or an option?

Group Buy for a Powder Coating gun

I'm not sure if this is the right board for this but: I've been looking to get into powder coating and want to get the best gun I can afford, and this looks like a great gun, but I can't afford it for it's retail price of $999.00. It looks like the same gun as the King Coat with Hopper, I...

low oil drain pan for use with MaxJax?

Anyone know of a good oil drain pan/cart of this style that's low enough to work with a maxjax? Looks like the 2 lift lock-bar positions are at 23" and 43" inches. Right now due to my garage door opener I have to work at the lower setting.

Low profile Garage door opener - No Torsion Bar

I have what appears to be a Raynor Decade series garage door, with a chain drive style opener. There is no torsion bar, so it seems a jackshaft style opener is out, unless it's possible to fit it with a torsion bar? I don't know. Hopefully someone can answer this Are there any other options...

MaxJax missing part - Nevermind, I found it.

I appear to be missing the "Long 90-Degree 3/8” x 3/8” O-Ring Fitting" it's the right angle pipe that screws into the side of the pumping unit that then connects to a short hose that then goes to the flow divider. see page 9 fig 3.5 http://www.maxjaxusa.com/downloads/MaxJax-Manual.pdf Is this...

the ceiling in my garage is 112" from the floor. I want a 2 post lift that will fit. I know the maxjax is an option, and it's the main one i'm considering right now, but i'm wondering if there is anything else on the market that will work? Also it has to be on the same pricepoint of the...

Sams Club 61" CSPS Tool Box

So i went to sams today and got the last CSPS 61" diamond plated box they had. They told me they do not plan on carrying the 61" box anymore. Got in at $950 +tax and overall I think it was a good value. It seems to be decently constructed, the ball bearing drawers are nice and there's...
