    Garbage disposal

My garbage disposal went out today. It's not quite 3 years old. What's a good garbage disposal to get. I'd like to stay under $150, but if I need to spend more I will. The current one is listed as a 1/3 HP and is just a cheap builder grade unit.

    HF 26" tool box

I just bought another HF 26" tool box. Put the wheels on while it was in the back of my truck. Unboxed it and got it out if my truck. Everything looks good except everything but the bottom drawer is locked. I assume the keys are locked in the top drawer as they are usually tied in there. Of...

    Carpenter's pencils

I just came across this video on YouTube. It may have been posted here before, but its kind of neat and worth seeing again. This video has given me a new appreciation for the lowly carpenter's pencil.

    Craftsman in pawn shops

A lot of new SBD Craftsman items are showing up in the local pawn shops. This is new stuff that has only been in the local Lowes stores for the past 2 months. I don't get it. Why would people take this stuff to pawn shops for pennies on the dollar when it could be returned to Lowes? At one pawn...

How to get rid of slope in garage floor.

My workshop is 10x12. It's a single car garage that is divided for my shop space. The concrete is level out from the wall about a foot. The floor slopes towards the garage door and drops about an inch. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the slope and make it all level?

    Let's see your small workshop

There are some amazing garages and workshops on here with some really large spaces. A lot of us do not have the luxury of a large work space due to either circumstance or choice. I fall into both categories. I like a smaller work space and ended up with mine at just over 120 sf through...

    Warning to wood workers

We all know how dangerous table saws can be. I think anyone who has ever used a table saw knows the dangers of kick backs. There is safety equipment on a table saw to help prevent the possibility of a kick back. The saw I was using today has a riving knife, guard and catches all in one unit. I...

    I don't get it

I was at our town's new ACE store yesterday and saw this on the rack. Right near it on the same rack was this. The Crescent pliers are made in China. The Channellock pliers are made in USA. Why would anyone pay $2.40 more for basically the same pliers made in China especially when the USA...

    Lincoln AC 225 question

I have a Lincoln AC 225 arc welder. Can I mount it up on the wall? I haven't used it yet and don't know how much heat it will give off. I have a sheetrock wall and don't want to scorch the wall.

Stacking bottom tool chests. Can it be done?

Or rather should it be done? I have the HF 44" tool chests. Anyone tried stacking 2 bottoms on top of each other? I know there is a lip on top of the boxes to deal with and supports on the bottom to deal with. These would be stationary and could even be bolted to the wall. I did a search on here...

    Need a new air compressor

So I am in need of a new compressor. I know this is garage journal, but I don't need an 80 gallon compressor or anything like that. I need something small to run finish nailers and framing nailers, air up tires, clear out dust and occasionally spray some finish on wood projects. If it is quiet...

    ARFLY's micro shop

We got moved into our new house in June. We actually started living there in April, but it took awhile to get everything moved. My shop area is part of a one car garage and measures 10'x12'. I know, really small. There will be a lot going into it, and I am just getting started on it. This is...

    Goldblatt

Online I have come across some Goldblatt pliers. From the pictures, they look pretty good. I have done some searches on here and can't really find anything on them. Does anyone have any to report on? How are they and where are they made? They are probably not any better than my Channellocks, but...

We are getting a new house built, and when it is finished I am completely redoing my garage. My new garage will be wired for 220.
