    Robbins & Meyers Fan Restoration

Robbins & Myers Fan Restoration I picked up this fan at a garage sale this summer and finally got around to working on it. Pretty sure I paid 8 bucks for it, had a horrible house paint repaint job and bad wiring but it turned on and oscillated! Here are the before pictures, I'll update my...

Well I bought another old shopsmith...

I've been kind of absent from this forum this summer, taking a little bit of a break from shop fun to work non stop and do summer fun things. Anyway, thought this was worthy to post about. :3gears: My other 1947 10e is 97% done restoration, just needs a couple knobs here and there to complete...

    Really old 1/2 drills

Picked up this pile off CL for $25 today My favorite is this Black and Decker 1/2 drill. I have been unable to locate the chart showing the B&D logo timeline, can somebody direct me to that? I think this one is 20s. I left the non threaded pipe handle there by accident, kicking myself...

    Hold me back guys

Sabre saw has some problems and I seriously don't need any more handheld power tools at all. In the hour it has been up I still have yet to find a single reason why this shouldn't be in my shop though... Pictures for posterity if I don't get there first. It's midnight

    Large Madden round file

About 1" around at it's thickest point. I still use sometimes it to radius large holes, although it doesn't compare to a die grinder. It was my great grandfathers, don't know how old but I know it is rather old! I wish there was a way to sharpen these, although I bet it would cost a ton...

Not so beat up 12" Craftsman Parks Planer Restoration

That quote was from the thread on my 15" planer. It had a fatal crack so I kept the parts and am making a coffee table out of it. Then I saw this craigslist ad I agreed to come sight unseen that morning, it was only 25 minutes away! It is filthy but the paint is rather good and it...

Delta sidekick blades on table saw

Apparently the sidekicks are just like a sawbuck, a sliding saw on rails. Can I use a blade from one on my table saw for finish crosscutting and plywood work? Or because of the sliding nature of the sidekick is the hook angle of the blades incorrect for table saw usage?

    File Cabinets as tool bases

I need some new bases for a couple benchtop tools, something that doesn't waste space and is cost efficient. Having recently picked up a couple file cabs to build into a bench I really like how nice the slides are on the older heavy ones, and they are great for power tool storage and could be...

Help me make a fair offer on a delta shaper.

I saw this ad for a whole wood shop being parted out on craigslist from a guy helping out a neighbor who lost her husband. He knows nothing about it and said to make an offer. Listed as a rotor mill but is actually a delta 43-110 shaper...

From log to bowl, Scimonetti's Woodturning Adventures!

As promised in the garage sale thread, I am starting a thread about all of my woodturning. Woodturning is what got me into fine woodworking and tools in general, I was making fishing lures and saw videos on the web of lathes, and just had to have one. I decided to make my own and designed it...

5" Cup brush on 4.5" angle grinder

I just picked up a 5" crimped brush for my Milwaukee 11 amp grinder. Do you think it is too big? It clears fine but seems to be pushing the limits of this grinder, it spins up to full speed fine but starts to bog under moderate to light pressure. I bought it to do some finishing work on a large...

    Where to buy sanding plates

I am looking for a 9" sanding disc with a 5/8 arbor and set screw. I bought one for $20 on ebay a while ago, but it is cheap pot metal and doesn't run true enough to sand. I have been unable to locate anything online, can anybody help me out with this? I'm pretty stumped, even using the word...

    9" sanding disc

I bought one off ebay for $20 as is a little while ago, it had tons of warp and didn't work right. I have been unable to find any online, so I am asking all of you if you have any 9" sanding plates with a 5/8 arbor and set screw. Thanks! :3gears:

    Shopsmith 10e handle and hub

Looking for 2 of these smooth hubs for the shopsmith. If you have any of the red handles that thread into them (just like a Drill Press) I am also interested in those!

    Scimonetti's Electric Motor Restoration Adventures!

In this thread you will watch me get way over my head! Seriously though, I have disassembled and painted about 5-6 motors before, but nothing this bad. Others have been rusted and needed bearings but the wiring was intact. This chicom was completely cosmetic This Craftsman needed a rewire...

Craftsman drill grinder on a disc sander

Anyway, you think it would work on a disc sander? Assuming there isn't too much runout I don't see a problem. It would be nice to have a little dedicated tool that I don't have to keep setting up. The question is speed and grit. 220 or 120 grit on a 9"wheel? 3450 or 1750 rpm? Thanks for any input!

    Neat bench grinder

Pretty sure it's homemade, but it looks built well. The rests appear salvaged, but it's clean.

    Interesting shaper

Just spotted this on the local CL. Guy claims it's a craftsman and $75. I'm not looking to buy, but In some basic research I can't find any like it. It looks like it says SKF but still never heard of them except for bearings Anybody seen one like it before?
