Tool to mark through a hole with depth

It's a bit difficult to describe. But say I have a plastic part I want to hang up. I need to make holes in a wall. So I need to mark or draw a hole on the wall before I can drill. But the plastic part has a depth of say 1 cm, with a hole of 4mm. The problem is I can't insert a pencil or marker...

    Detents missing in 1/4" socket

I hoped I've used the right term "detent" for the slots cut inside the drive side of a socket. When I accidentally pulled out a socket from a 1/4" ratchet without pressing the quick release button, my first thought was the ratchet was defective. Then I looked closer and noticed that, that...

    Headlamp strap

I use headlamps (LED type without the hardhat) a lot. But everytime, the first thing to go is the strap. They barely last a year for me. When I search Amazon for a replacement strap, it costs like half the price of a new headlamp. It's like there's no point to buying a replacement strap, but a...

    Hammering on a combination wrench

I got a small impact driver, but the torque was not enough to loosen a battery terminal nut that was seized by corrosion salt. So I put the closed end of a combination wrench on the nut and strike at the open end with a small hammer. It did the trick to loosen the nut. I was just wondering if...

    1/4" hex drive sockets

I have a couple of cordless impact drivers with 1/4" hex drive. But I find it difficult to get a one-piece socket like this one: Most hex drive bits are for smaller bits like phillips, slot, square, torx, allen and even drill bits. But they appears to be very uncommon for sockets, except for...

    Torx on allen head

So I have a 4mm allen head screw. The allen key seemed a bit round at the corner and didn't turn the screw very well. I put in a T25 torx and it turns much better. What's GJ opinion on using torx on allen head ?

    Lug crimping tool

I have this tool for crimping battery cable lugs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003X51S00/?tag=atomicindus08-20 The problem is I can't use on a car if I was terminating an existing battery cable, since you need to put it down on a concrete to whack. I don't want to spend a lot of money on giant...

    Sunex hose pliers

I'm looking for a reasonably priced set of hose pliers and this Sunex set seemed to fit the bill. However, I'm a bit wary of the negative comments, since Sunex is well reputed for its sockets sets. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000RLMRIU/?tag=atomicindus08-20 Anyone has this set and...

Best wrench to remove rounded off nut

I frequently have to remove rounded off 10mm nut on a battery terminal with space limitation. If I'm lucky, the closed end will fit, otherwise, it's the more difficult open end. So far, I've tried with spline, but not very successful, as it keeps slipping. And each time, this Metrinch save my...

Impact driver turning in the "wrong" direction

I have a Milwaukee right angle impact driver. On some occasions I came across a really over-tightened nut. When I use the reverse direction on that nut, I was seeing the socket moving clockwise, instead of anti-clockwise. The nut refused to budge. I thought I had set it in the wrong...
