    Previously uploaded pictures

I haven't been in here in awhile and I just tried looking up some pictures I uploaded in the past but can't find them. Seems to me I used to click on my avatar to bring up my pic file. Was there a change?

    New Compressor

I finally got too tired of the racket of my 6 year old oil less HUSKY compressor so I found a good deal on a new super quiet Kobalt model, also oil less. The new Kobalt offers 26 gal. capacity and a slightly larger twin cylinder pump. Only changes I made were the addition of a water separator on...

    Please ID this

I know this came from Western Auto and I can find pictures of the regular charger but none like this "Booster - Charger." Looks like late 50's early 60's. Any info on this?

    Snap-on ratchet question

I have a few Snap-on ratchets but only this TM 70M 1/4 drive Midget ratchet has this writing. What is the significance? Does it mean it has been rebuilt or was it something they did for a short time? The date code is 1985.

    Variable belt speed

I'm thinking that I'd like to have a variable speed option on my Craftsman 6/48" belt and 9" disk sander. The motor is 110v, 3/4hp. Can it done? Would I be risking damage to the motor? If it's doable would I keep the original push/pull switch (in yellow) and add a separate rheostat to vary the...

    Craftsman Belt Sander

I've been looking for a belt sander for quite awhile. Not cuz I need one, just cuz I wanted one. I saw this one listed in good condition but non-working. The seller said she's had it for about 25 years but only used it for two then it stopped working. The machine was actually in great looking...

    I'm assuming this is vintage.

So today I head out on a pawn shop tool crawl and I come upon a 1/4 drive Snap-On ratchet marked TM 70 B made in USA with a letter E just below the the bottom ring of the handle. The marked price was $19.oo. I ask to check it out and find that it only works in one direction and just spins in...

    Pleasant experience at Lowes

Walked in with my 20+ year old non working Craftsman 1/4 drive ratchet and asked to take advantage of the Lifetime Replacement Guarantee. The girl at the desk looked at it said to go get a new one off the rack. I brought it back, signed the receipt and away I went. I was happy. Not bad for a...

    Odd Craftsman Wrench

This has been sitting in my tool chest for probably 40 years and I've just taken notice of it today. I believe it to be a 1940's Craftsman No.1 from a set of 5 Thin Tappet Wrench. Please correct me if I'm wrong and in any case would anyone know the value of it?

RTV Sealer tubes hardening between uses.

Has anybody come up with a way to keep RTV sealer from hardening in the tube and or nozzle between uses? I've tried removing the nozzle and installing the screw cap but the next time I use it I still have to drill out the hardened material in the front of the tube. I've left the nozzle on and...

    Drill Press chuck problem

All the chucks in my previous drill presses have been screw on but the large chuck in my WEN 4212 is a tapered shaft press fit. I've had the machine for about three years with no problems but suddenly the chuck want to drop out every now and then. What's the secret to getting it to stay in???

    Speaking of grease guns.

I've wasted enough time on cheap bargain table grease guns that end up having seepage past the plunger resulting in puddles on the bench. Can anybody recommend a decent quality grease gun, air driven maybe, that will actually hold the grease in until it's called for? Thanks in advance.

    Kobalt Tool issue

I have a set of the above pliers and I really dislike the big rubber grips. If possible I would like to remove the grips and just rubber dip the handles. Any ideas on how to remove the grips?

My first Craftsman crank drill. Sometimes I get too anxious and tear down without any before pics. This one was scuzzy.
