I have a breaker that feeds part of my aerobic septic system and it will not turn on. It's a SqD like a QO with the little trip window but has screws on both ends instead of a stab type. It's not tripping out , it just won't turn on. I have just bypassed that breaker for now and running the...

Sub panel questions-New thread as to not hijack existing thread

the code change in 2008 was only for subpanels in DETACHED buildings. It is a subpanel because of the main breaker ahead of it. This is totally incorrect. bonded neutral has NEVER been allowed in a subpanel in the same structure as the main. the code change we are discussing above is for...

I am replacing this gray plastic angle stop because its leaking. The 1/2" male end connected to the supply from the wall. Supply is 3/8 pex with what appears to be a 3/8 pex to 1/2" something ( compression, idk)? From the wall the pex has a female nut like for a compression fitting. Not sure if...

Platform for working in engine bay

I usually use a milk crate but sometimes need 2 of them stacked to reach to the back of the engine. But 2 of them are really too tall and 1 1/2 would be almost perfect. They each measure right at 11" high or so. What do yall use for engine work?

Troubleshooting cat5e cable for my POE camera

One of my security cameras had quit working. I finally got around to try and figure what the issue is. This run is about 250ft in 3/4" conduit underground. I connected a tester to the ends and it shows a miswire on two of the pairs. It has punchdown keystone jacks on the ends. I pulled the...

    Welding red iron steel

I have some left over red iron material from the shop build. The guys that welded up the steel were using a big truck mounted arc welder. They did not grind off the red oxide or whatever that is on the steel. Just cut it to size and weld it up. Can I weld this stuff with a mig welder using flux...

I'm redoing the finish on my front door and found some of the trim around the glass is somewhat punky and soft. I plan to dig out the affected area down to good wood and fill it. 20 years ago I ran speaker wire for a whole house system to connect to the stereo. Complete with volume control in each room None of this has ever been connected. Noisy SquareD main breaker

In my new shop is a new 200 amp square d panel. The main breaker has a constant weird noise while AC is running. At first I thought it was the 15 A that feeds a bank of five LED lights. But using a high tech stethoscope (pvc pipe) it is the main. I can turn off the AC and it stops the noise. AC...
