    Recognize this Fence?

Got this in a truckload of Unisaw stuff. Similar to a Biesemeyer. From the 80’s. No name on it. Very heavy. Anyone ever seen one?

    Kysor Johnson Model J Bandsaw

I just bought this beast of a horizontal Bandsaw today from a gentleman who closed his machine shop and retired. It weighs 800 pounds. Apparently a company called Dake is the successor to this brand name, and still makes a comparable saw? It’s filthy dirty, been sitting in a corner unused for...

    Pegboard Hacks

I know some aren’t fans of pegboards but I think they have their place. Was thinking about adding some baskets to this one, had some plastic duplex boxes laying around and thought what the heck.

    Lowe’s Craftsman Wrenches- Poor Quality

I bought a set of 20 “Craftsman” combination Wrenches at Lowe’s today. Didn’t open the box till I got home. What a disappointment. The fit and finish is nowhere close to my old standard Craftsman Wrenches. They look like Taiwanese junk. Rough cast, poorly chromed. Clearly inferior quality.

    Question: Air Sander Grinder

Dumb question probably. I see the guys on the hot rod tv shows using these little air powered sander/grinders with about a 2” diameter disc/wheel. Looks very handy in tight quarters. I haven’t found anything in the stores that looks just like what they’re using. Does anyone know exactly what...

    Craigslist Blast Cabinets

I’m a Craigslist junkie. Not a good thing. Picked up two Harbor Freight sand blast cabinets for $100. Got there and he threw in a dust collector. It appears that it’s worth more than the cabinets. Now I have a project to make one good cabinet out of the two and get it all working.

Alternate uses for two post lift?

I’ve been playing with my “new” thirty year old two post lift and finding all sorts of other uses for it. Anyone else?

Belt & Suspenders - Lift Brace

I know two post lifts are stable but when I saw how close the ceiling steel was to the lift I couldn’t resist.

Old Two Post Lift Finally Installed

I bought two thirty year old VBM/Challenger two-post lifts from a mechanic shop a few weeks ago and finally got one installed and working in my shop. I paid $1200 for the pair because he wouldn’t separate them, sold one for $550, and kept the one. I was concerned about the old lift pump but it...

    Challenger 2 Post Lift Identification?

Working on getting my shop ready for when I retire (soon) and decided I needed a two post car lift. I decided I’d rather have a used commercial model than take a chance on the many Chinese discount models. I found a mechanic shop selling two Challengers for a decent price and bought them. They...

    Greetings from Houston

Hello folks. Incorrigible old garage guy here. Been wrenching, welding, machining, hammering stuff all my life. Getting ready to retire and trying to get my new shop rigged out to work on “stuff”.....cars, tractors, trailers...all kinds of greasy things. Looking forward to comparing notes...
