Re-introducing myself after 5 year hiatus.

Spent a lot of time enjoying GJ years ago. Then life happens and you take time in other things. Enjoyed my shop the whole time, but am looking forward to the interaction here again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Battery Tester

Interesting piece. A guy offered it to me for $20 when I picked up some old parts cabinets from him. Should make a nice wall hanger. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wouldn't this stuff be cool in somebody's garage?

I had no intention of doing this, but I ended up with this Stihl display tonight on an online auction. I'm trying my best to figure out a way to work it into my shop, but I don't see how I can make it happen. Let's hear what you guys would do with it!

    Fluorescent lighted sign repair.

I'm not an electrician, so bear with me please. I've got a collection of lighted signs. I'm currently working on an inoperative one that has 3, 7' bulbs. I put power to it and the ballast does not buzz. Stopped by HD to look at ballasts. They have ballasts for either 1 or 2 8 ft bulbs. Here are...

    Sliding cabinet doors

I'd like to hang cabinets across the back wall of my shop. Being its 32', takeouts that match are tough to find. I'm not a cabinet maker by any means, but I'm contemplating framing some out from the wall, dividing it up equally, building a face frame in front of that and finishing it out with...

I started a thread awhile back about backlighting a large 76 sign I have. Got it hung today and couldn't be more pleased with the results. Here is a before and after pic of that area.

    Backlighting a sign

I've got a sign that I'm going to hang above my compressor that I'd light to backlight when power is on to the compressor therefore serving a practical purpose as well as being decorative. Sign is 7' 3" in diameter. I'd like plenty of light behind it, but I'd also like the light to be even...

Got a screaming deal on a 3 phase Enco mill. Would like to move the Phase A Matic static converter from my Wells Index over to it and use the Enco foor awhile to see if I might like it better. Is there a way to determine what goes where on the output side? I cant seem to find markings of any...

    Footing for post sign

I have a Phillips 66 sign thats been hanging in my shop for years. The post for it has been laying behind the shop for just as long. With the recent gas station talk, I've made the decision to go ahaed and put it up in front of my shop. The sign itself is about 6' by 5' and is really more than...

    Workbench wheels or not?...My solution

We debated the merit of workbench wheels awhile back. Let me say that for me it is important for the bench to stay put and not move around when I'm using it. That said, while not too terribly old yet, I can see where I wont have the strength to move my benches at some point down the road. I've...

    Lighted sign lens repair

Bought a 3' by 4' lighted sign awhile back. Bought it as a 1 sided sign as the back plastic lens is cracked. Initial plan was to replace the back lens with 1/4" plywood and call it a day. Upon further inspection, I'm thinking the lens might be able to be saved. Lens is complete and one piece but...
