NG or mini spit for efficiency?

I just moved into a rental house. Around 1,200 sq/ft each floor. 2 floors. Electric heat, 2 stand alone gas fireplaces and a mini spit. I keep the electric heat off and the doors closed in the 4 bedrooms I don't use. Keep it on in my bedroom, bathroom and downstairs where I watch TV every night...

How to fix this rust hole?

Any ideas guys? This is where two panels meet. Right panel is fine. Panel to the left is not structural. Hole is covered by rocker cover, so you won’t see it. Proper way it to take it to a body shop and spend a few grand, but I’m not going there. I was thinking of a screen and bondo? The left...

    Homecraft drill press paint restoration

I guess once upon a time to keep apprentices busy you gave them paint and told them to just paint stuff. The remaining grey paint on the drill press is in amazing shape. But someone decided to paint the guard and base. I want to remove the paint (would be nice to only strip the top and leave the...

    Liftmaster 8500 failing

Hi Gents. 8 year old 8500. I’m in the garage and the door goes up on its own. I grab remote and it takes a couple of pushes to get it to come back down. 30 seconds later it opens again and remote won’t work. Go to the panel and it doesn’t work. I unplug it a couple of times like a monkey and...

Can this fan motor be saved?

This the fan motor for the bathroom at work and it squeals like a banshee. It's a 40 year old (guessing) unit that is hard wired and the box is built into the ceiling. It would be the easiest to buy a new fan with housing, but the install would be a pain and it's not like I have my tools at...

Would you buy a used torque wrench?

My 1/2" torque wrench is a cheap 25 year old tool and is slipping occasionally. For the most part I just use it for wheels, which is fairly often. Budget of around $200. Is a higher end used one worth getting? If ridden hard, I worry it will be out of wack. What do you think?
