    Glueing plastic?

    Difference is wood is gluable. Glues like Gorilla Glue penetrates the all pores and once dry, is stronger the wood itself. HDPE is not gluable. Several people on Ebay sell HDPE remnants. Bought a couple to make cutting boards for cleaning fish and an edge for a homemade Manplow. My advice...

    Glue HDPE together then put it in a lathe? Sounds treacherous to me.

    my heavy duty bench build

    I mounted a receiver type vice on my bench as well. Drilled a hole into the side of it, welded a 1/2" nut over it, installed a bolt with a jam nut, works great.
