If all lamps are inop most likely a ballast. Make sure you have 120v between your hot and Neutral at the ballast. Do not use a tick type as this will not confirm a good neutral connection. Replace it with a good name brand ballast if it is bad.It will last a lot longer than a cheap one.

Thanks for the info. the farm was quite old. The gentleman who owned it was passionate about keeping his equipment well maintained. All equipment was kept indoors. Found a few Ford adjustable wrenches in the pile just now.

I strip long, twist em up and trim back before putting wire nut on. I do the same for solid or stranded. Been doing it this way for a long time.

I think that a coupler welded to a squared up piece of angle would be fairly easy to fabricate. I do fabrication as a hobby. I might see if I can build one.
