    Ego mower problem

Just another product taking advantage of current trends, idealogy and dreams unfortunately.

    New aluminum trailer project

^^^ this. I don't think that by just replacing a steel designed trailer with aluminum components is successful in the long term unfortunately.

Pretty up EPS insulation board in barn

Tape the seams on the foam and use whatever you like. Even about 3 sq of some vinyl siding on clearance would be fine and save you $ over cedar. Nice looking building and congratulations on your new adventure. 👍

36x40 Attached Garage / Mudroom Build - Layout Suggestions

My thoughts are that the posts are something I'm always walking around and 2 posts under 2' apart* is something even bigger to walk around. 😆 It might just be my particular "traffic flow" to the toolbox or whatever. I do have the post that's by the wall that's only 22" between the...

36x40 Attached Garage / Mudroom Build - Layout Suggestions

@z28 I confess to not looking at your plans originally. A couple of things, Is there a reason for the lift bay to not be as deep as the rest of the building? (more lift room with longer "scissors" and corners are not cheap) Take these plans to a truss company. They do crazy things theses days...

36x40 Attached Garage / Mudroom Build - Layout Suggestions

36x40 is humongous coming from your current 2 car regular  parking garage . It's not the answer you probably want (in terms of interior layout) but I'd have it built with no interior posts or bearing walls. You're list of desires spaces doesn't match your proposed 36x40. After 3 builds for...

Looking for 2 post lift recommendations

I found a nice used (at a dealership) Rotary brand 10k 2 post lift. For $1000! A fantastic deal. It had the original selling companies stickers on it with some annual inspection stickers. I have radiant heat in my floors and between this and no paperwork or familiarity with this lift I called...

Recommend me a buy it for life and hand it down screwdriver set

Realy screwdrivers? All of mine are 18v with throw away tips.🤣 The rest are primarily small pry bars or scrapers. Beyond electrical work, who still uses screws and screwdrivers? I'll include gunsmithing and I'm sure I'm missing some other trades, but the $12 Christmas time special assortment at...

    Sharting Star Workshop Build

Pat yourself on your back! You're degree from the "school of hard knocks" is almost over. 👍 It's a great building and you're determination shines through. Trusscore is nice but pretty expensive. Regular "barn metal" is the choice of many for its durability and washability. (and without...

    Shed insulation determination

The easiest way to check to see if the ridge is vented without hacking up the inside would be to take a piece of ridge off. Those ridge caps usually will allow for some ventilation but require the correct closures to keep the weather (blowing snow) out. How big is this shed?

    Help with Steel Barn Siding

Just do the math. Having the materials on the job will be helpful but any literature with dimensions will do. Usually the panels net 36" of coverage and the major ribs are 9" apart. If you're math tells you that it just happens to end up with a rib at the corners screwing flange and you can't...

Best Method for Hanging drywall on a 13 ft high wall?

Have you priced barn metal? By the time you hang, scrap out, finish (3+ trips across it) prime and paint drywall..... then most drywall looks like **** in about 8-10 years because of the moisture. The metal won't care about the inadequate framing for 1/2" board, (use 5/8 green board) and even...

    Site Plan

That "postage stamp" sized lot with the building s/f restrictions.... What you propose is built/maxed out for that property and it'll never be more. Next consider who would want this property when you've run out of space outside and inside of the 2 little garages? After all real estate is the...

    Wood Stove: How many cords?

That would be my concern also. It's got to be cut and split to dry and to reduce the drying it's got to be stacked. The OP would be amazed how fast a single row stack will dry particularly with the prevalent winds blowing against the stack.👍

    Wood Stove: How many cords?

Wouldn't knocking those 1000g of LP even down to 700-800g be a joy? Multiple sources of heating is always good and your goal of eliminating lp completely is premature at best. Good luck and I think you'll enjoy starting off supplementing with wood. 👍

    Do rodents chew PEX pipe?

How many miles of plastic Street or well connections are out there? Scary thought. I'm hoping that at least I'm ok with my well line 5'+ deep because of the frost depth and most of it is in the ground water table. (at least when I dug it)

Best way to make a rough concrete floor smooth

Having a concrete grinding service give you a ballpark price would be a big part of my decision on how to proceed. Explain your desired results for your 12'x22' broom finished slab. You don't seem super picky (4 letter word to contractors) about being re contoured and made level, just knock off...

    Ventilation suggestions Please!

The additional fans that you mention can probably be added later without holding up most inside finishes. It's ******** hot out and summer time, there's a point where you're hopeless fighting it. You might have a little different judgment with a less extreme temperature week. But ventilation is...
