    Question on sistering rafters

Question Does anyone make a construction adhesive design for this situation? I think the latex may have lead under it which makes this a much more involved project. How much structural benefit am I giving up if I just bolt it up with no adhesive? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Question on sistering rafters

Hey guys I have a cracked 2x6 rafter in my screened in porch. In the past when I've sistered rafters I've used construction adhesive to bond the sistered rafter to the damaged one, along with bolts. These rafters are all painted though, in a yellow latex paint. Do I have to somehow strip...

    (It's) Riding lawn mower time

I have a Husqvarna and also have an acre. 48" deck I think. It's a great machine. I also use it to haul firewood and dethatch/aerate. It has the 22 horse Kohler v twin. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

    Linesman pliers or all purpose?

All pros I know use their linesman pliers for just about everything, including stripping solid core wires. A good set of linesman pliers will outlive you. My solution to looping wire is to elimimate it - get outlets that can be back wired. They are a few more bucks but worth it for the ease of...

Nomination for "Worst Automotive Maintenance Feature Ever"

Air filter on an 84-89 Porsche 911 3.2. You had better have a good relationship with your wife, because only tiny, delicate fingers have a snowball's chance of getting those rear two bailing wire clips snapped on. Pretty much everything else in that car is pretty damn easy though. I was able...

How do you guys paint small stuff in your garage?

Jack, I ran across this too. I think with a lazy Susan this is the solution for me. Only downside is no built in provision for an exhaust.

How do you guys paint small stuff in your garage?

This is very cool! Too elaborate for my use case but if I had a lot of stuff to paint, I might steal this.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today? I'm going all Makita. That impact is incredible and I wired 3 garages with that white drill - it is incredible. With the right ship augur bit it will eat nails. I have a million pics but no thread yet...On my to-do list!

How do you guys paint small stuff in your garage?

I like this. So you just put stuff on that grate, turn on the fan and fire away? I think I might have to steal this idea. Do you break it down to store it?

I can't fully picture your setup but I love the idea of a range hood.

How do you guys paint small stuff in your garage?

Just finished my 3 bay garage, have a pile of projects lined up. I park cars in all three bays...Actually bay 3 will be getting a 4 post so I can get all 4 cars inside during the winter months. How do you guys spray paint stuff in the garage? I am terrified of getting paint all.over...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today? I made this rack for my drill and impact, I inspired by the incredible work I've seen on this forum. This was the first project I did in my new garage...And of course, it was FOR my garage!

Old garage, 4-post lift, creative engineering?

Not sure what 4 post you're looking at - but the footprint is going to be tight too. The narrow version of the bendpack hd9 has a 100" x 200" footprint (depth includes the loading ramps). If you put it in the middle bay, you'll be slightly into the other 2. Just a thought. You have a really...

    Metal pegboard

I literally just put this up last night. This is from a company called diamond life. They put a backer behind the steel so the pegboard hooks inset securely, like a hardboard pegboard. I will report back once I have some "miles" on it, but it's a very high quality piece. Not cheap, but you...

Anyone ever take out 2 single car garage doors and install a 2 car door ?

Curious - why do you want to do this? I had a double wide at my last house and it was great because we had to make a right angle turn to get into the garage, not having a post between the two bays gave us more maneuvering room. If it was straight in I prefer the look of 2 doors plus it's less...
