    Where to buy these ?

Thanks for the responses guyz. I was looking at them as an alternative to plywood, thinking that they would just be easier to move around. They're for my attic in my house where I would use them just to get around in tight spaces.

    Electrical wiring books

I also just picked this up too. Great book so far. The Home Depot books are pretty good from what I've read. I haven't bought one yet. I just go to HD when I have a question and treat it as a library. The B&D books look pretty good too from what I've read in bookstores.

    Cost of replacing extension springs

The door and garage is ancient. Not sure how heavy it is, but it's solid wood with 4 glass panes on the top panel. It's a little over 6' tall, not sure how wide. It's not too bad to open it manually since 1 spring is still intact. I'm guessing it'll be more than 130 because I'd like to get...

    Cost of replacing extension springs

I just got rough quote of $130 to replace my extension springs. Is that a good ballpark ? Reality is, after reading about the dangers involved in this fix, I don't think I'm willing to do this myself.

    Lubing the garage door

Stopped by at Ace hw yesterday and picked up graphite powder. For $1.79, I figured how can I go wrong. Did the rollers and hinges and it's whisper quiet now. Also noticed that there's a wheel missing. The missing wheel causes the door to make a little hum when the door gets to the top. The...

    Lubing the garage door

Thanks for the feedback guyz ! I was thinking white lithum grease. Was hoping to redo the garage in '06, but '07 looks more realistic now. Bought and dormered a house this year. I need a break from construction. Figured I'd be able to migrate the GDO to the new garage.

    Lubing the garage door

What do you guyz use to lube the garage door hinges, tracks, etc. with ? I just installed a Chamberlain belt drive opener. The door is ancient and creaks like crazy.

New guy: Car lift suggestion? Air compressor question too

Totally hear you on the investing front. Best advice I learned out of school. A Skyline swap would be nice. I was in the middle of my 280zx turbo upgrade when I ran out of money. Was in the middle of a Tec II engine mgt. system. Still have the car and hopefully will find time to bring it...

New guy: Car lift suggestion? Air compressor question too

I currently have a 1 car garage-a-ma-hut and planning on blowing it away for a 2 car (hopefully within a year). I'm starting to read up on lifts as well since I pretty much want to build the garage with the lift in mind. I was poking around on bendpak's site yesterday and stumbled into their...

    Circular saw

I picked up the DEWALT DC4KITA 18-Volt, 4 Tool Cordless Combo Kit earlier this year. Basically for weekend warrior work. I like the circular saw so far. It's a 6 1/2 inch.

    Need some AC help please...

Ok, I hear what you're saying about the reusable filters getting to a point of no return. Kinda like how some K&Ns get to a point when it's not worth the hassle of cleaning and just buying a new one. For now, I think I'm going to use this reusable one and keep washing it. I'll look into 3M...

I have one of those "reusable" filters. How often should it be cleaned ? I was told every couple of months by the installer. Which is better ?...Reusable or replacements ?

    Need some AC help please...

I recently had 2 2-ton Units put in my house. 1 for each floor. Each floor is roughly 900 sq-ft. It seemed like enough for us this past summer. I was told by the installer, that it is a good idea to keep the A/C on all the time during the summer because the system doesn't have to work as...
