I remember Sol's well from my time in Omaha. Lots of good deals had there. They also had a few locations that were used music gear stores - D-Rocks Music. I spent many hours in both.

I'm definitely in the 'clean it when you need it' camp, but the vinegar method seems like the lowest risk, simplest, and maybe cheapest. Jay - is the vinegar really stout enough to remove automotive paint?

There is also a file set with hard handles in a roll, and a bunch of Snap On screwdrivers. Sill, nothing close to $1200 or even $500 dollars.

I see $200 of stuff there I think... a couple SO wrenches, two ratcheting screwdrivers, Snap On ratchet, Snap On pry bars. At $200, any hidden gems are just a bonus. No on will even take the time to email at $1200.

That makes it easy. A dab of blue loctite shouldn't hurt.

Freshened up the carb on my little roto tiller, helicoiled two engine mounting holes that were boogered from years of use without checking fastners, and 'cold-welded' a broken off mounting ear. All back together, ready to finish prepping the garden for fall.

+1 for thread files... I always try the files first, even if it is only to get a small improvement before switching to a die (either restoring or cutting).

I'm definitely going to pick up two of the 'updated' (?) pull cord versions. Should be PERFECT for what I have in mind for them.
