Calling all garage door "EXPERTS" only

I live near DDM, have bought and installed springs from them probably ten times or more, for my home and for the warehouse I used to work at. Contact them, give them your door info and they should be able to give you the right springs. They haven't failed me yet, even when door info was hard to...

    Help finding a specific ratchet.

Does it have to be Craftsman, and does it have to be exactly the "right" ratchet? PowerTorque GM6146 by Edward Durbin, on Flickr"]Power Torque (sold at O'Reilly)[/URL] has a ratchet that looks similar. Not the same and not Craftsman, but maybe check it out and see if it works for you...

    Problem with crimp connectors

I use the Titan crimper at work sometimes, it's not the best for the type of connectors you're using. You're better off with something like these. I use Dorman and Crescent brand and they work pretty much perfectly every time.

Do you carry a pocket knife?

Every. Single. Day. Since I was probably around 15, there is never a day that goes by that I don't have a knife or two with me, would feel naked without one. Currently it's this one... IMG_0730 a by Edward Durbin, on Flickr

    New Ingersoll cordless 1/2

I have the 7150 at work and it's a monster. I haven't found anything yet that it won't break free. I'd love to have the new version with the light, but since this one was free I won't *****. I'd have to say for home use it's way, way too much, but for industrial maintenance work it's almost a...

    The Ryobi Tool Appreciation/Review Permathread!

I love the sprayer and don't pay any attention to the pump running to be honest. If something like that bothers people then they're probably being way too sensitive, it's not a bother at all. I don't think it's that loud at all, and when you consider the pros of not having to constantly pump a...

I'm looking for a small 8mm nut driver

Looks identical to the tool on one of my camera tripods...Manfrotto Tripod Wrench Can't say I've ever lost one. In fact, when it seemed to be getting "loose" on the tripod leg I just warmed it with the heat gun and squeezed it a little tighter to make sure it wouldn't fall off. Years later...

    Teng Tools Giveaway

The honesty of it is this: Of course you can add me to the list of people who want free tools, but apart from an honest review there's probably no way I'll buy other Teng products. Mainly because I haven't heard of them, also because 95% of the tools I use at work are free and I don't use...

How do i cut this rubber??????????????

Which is generally what happens on forums...people post just so they can post, and don't have any actual knowledge or helpful advice. 8 feet long...have fun with that. I cut conveyor belt often, but not an inch thick and not 8 feet long. However, I use two pieces of flat bar stock, clamped...

    Air Hose Repair

Flexzilla has reusable fittings, I have them on my air hose at home and like them way better than barbed fittings and hose clamps. I don't know if they'd work for other brands of hoses but they work perfectly for Flexzilla hose. Easy to install or remove, and no parts to get snagged on stuff.

    Best cheap 1/2" Impact?

Any chance to test the voltage on the battery? I haven't had the opportunity to check them out myself, still waiting to see them at the warehouse. I might just run out and buy one, test it out, then return it. Who knows, maybe it'll hit the returns dept and I can grab it for the shop...

Crimping spade connectors and flag spade connector

I use Dorman and Channel Lock crimpers for most connectors, they work for insulated and non-insulated. The Channel Lock have a slightly better feel while crimping, but the Dorman work perfectly fine. Can't say which I prefer, I use them both at work equally, and I use Dorman at home.

    Best cheap 1/2" Impact?

I work for O'Reilly in their warehouse. I haven't seen any of the new PT impacts at the warehouse, only saw a few at one of our stores the other day...didn't even know we had them. Didn't pay much attention to them, I'm waiting for some to hit our returns dept so I can snag them and try them...

    Best cheap 1/2" Impact?

I'm thinking a track job requires a bit better thinking when it comes to the tools used. Sometimes we have to bite the bullet price-wise instead of spending less now, then again, and again, and again. Ryobi is a great brand, I've used it for over 15 years and love every single Ryobi product I...

    Best cheap 1/2" Impact?

Most of the time people will say "If you want a good tool, 'cheap' wont' work.". I have a few questions... "All night at the track"...this means you're taking off and putting on a lot of wheels, and you need a tool that will have lasting power? "If it gets run over..."...this means you don't...
