Reviving an old thread. I'm finally ready to proceed on a shop build similar to this one. Can any of you recommend a good builder? I'm not set on any one type of building....pole, stick or metal. I'm in Olympia, WA.

I just read thru the entire thread! Great looking building, Jimmy! I have a barn built in the late 60's that I converted into a 1700 sf shop and plan on having a 30 x 50 like yours built in the next few years.

When a bench is going to be against a wall I always make it 24" so I can utilize a 4x8 sheet the best way possible......2' x 8' x 1.5" thick. I built a "fab table" that has casters on it and it's size is 4' x 4' x 1.5" thick.

That's awesome! I have 6 of these old Scouts ranging from '63 to '77. I also have a 1949 IH fridge. Was VERY happy to find it at a great price in perfect working condition. I use it daily in my shop.
