    Atlas 3 inch lathe

Very nice score. They have really gone up in value over the years. If the bearings are good, you will be able to get it running again. Couple of forums are out there that have folks that rebuild and restore them. "The Hobby Machinist" and "Practical Machinist". The former is geared toward...

$600 in gift cards from HomeDepot

For me, it would be lights, fans and more electrical supplies for my new Garage. May be tempted with a new Stainless BBQ. I would not have a problem spending $600 at the Depot.

about to break ground - shop power

I built a 30 X 36 X 12 and had a 200 amp overhead service, separate meter & 30 circuit panel installed. I'm several years away from exceeding 100 amps but power company and electrician both recommended the 200amp based on my future load requirement.

    Pole Barn Power Requirements

Folks, I've received estimates and had the county engineers design the plan for power to the Pole Barn. County estimated that I would need 100 amp service from an existing power pole. Will be an aerial connection of about 75 feet. Local Electrician said I would be better off with...

    Craftman 80-100-150 Restores

Great thread. I picked up a 150 few months back. I'm really liking the bronze color when the time comes. Right now it's a crusty work horse on the bench.

    Finds at the transfer station

But why throw them out? I have a junk box that I accumulate all sorts of no name, Taiwan tools and various odds and ends. These all go to one of thrift shops in town. They are normally ecstatic that someone brings them something other than clothes.

I did the same, but I used it for over a year and then cleaned it out and rebuilt. Makes a big difference. Next will be casters so I can move it. When it's full of media, it ain't going anywhere.

Need help for tools at upcoming estate sale

I've been thru this, we had a mountain of tools, car parts and misc equipment to sort thru. Some of the better stuff sold right away, most of the hand tools, older electric tools didn't move and zero offers. Garden tools sold quick, but were priced at $2-3. Mower $25, power washer $50. Most of...

    Busted Skeletool- worth a look.

My Leatherman jaw broke as well. Not the entire jaw, just about 1/2 of the end. Leatherman send me another one so no problem with the warranty. Overall they are not very strong and not suited for heavy mechanical work. It's now in my desk at work, perfect for opening boxed, pulling staples etc.

    Passed my electrical inspection

I'll be at this stage soon and have a couple questions. 1. What were the first two circuits that you had him run, I would assume lights and a few outlets? 2. What type of permit did you put to do the electrical yourself. Admire that you did it yourself. Well done!

    Baldwin Prestige Series

Been considering some new locks for the house and leaning towards the Baldwin Presige Series. Friend has a set on his garage and I must say they are well made and fit perfectly. Bump proof and pick resistant are a plus. I like the large key and the heavy construction. The smart key technology...
