I bought a box of tools today, these vintage Blackhawk tools were in it. Ratchet is rather unusual, not sure how it reverses??

I do like the type of drawer slide locks these Huot drawers have. A small screw driver easily releases the slide for drawer removal.

Thanks, just the info I was looking for, should be easy to adapt a straight metal rod to hold the cover in place.

I am working on a Huot roller chest and have a question on the pullout front panel. what was the original attachment for this panel? Should there be a roller on each side that rides on the track? Any help would be appreciated.

I am picking up this Proto cabinet today. It is missing locks. Why two lock holes? Was one for just the center drawer?

Does anyone recognize the make of this roller cabinet? Owner thought it was Craftsman but closer look shows Proto on the drawer pulls. I have no other info besides this one photo.

Is this an original Mac cabinet? Front pulls straight out like a file cabinet. A google image search does not find one like it. Did Mac sell these or was this a modified cabinet?

Would this New Britian Napa box be manufactured by MBC or Remline? Would it be equivalent of Mac from the same era?

Did New Britain manufacture their own tool boxes or contract it out to MBC etc? I’m looking at a 11 drawer NB box. Looks much like Mac from that era.

Thanks for posting the photos and info. Mine is definitely a MBC El Dorado rebadged as a Vulcan. I have taken all the drawers out and find that on the bottom drawer one slide is missing. Is there a source to order a replacement slide? 17” long 3/4” tall 5/16” wide.

Here is a Vulcan roller I just picked up to go with the top box I’ve had for awhile. I’m curious who manufactured this. I cannot find any date or code stamp on it unless it is under a sticker. It is a heavy well made box.

The Vulcan box I have was made by MBC, it is a nice well made box, equivalent to the Snap On boxes of that era that I have had.

The Snap On dealer was even able to order keys at a very reasonable cost. I was going to paint but decided to just clean up and lube the slides and use as is. It has such nice quality and craftsmanship compared to what is available. I removed the bottom drawer and found some early 50s Ford...

I recently bought these two Snap On boxes. Did Snap On stamp an ID code into these red label boxes as they did the later models? I’ve been looking with a flashlight but cannot find one. I assume these are late 50s? I am planning a strip, clean and repaint and put to use in my shop. Any info...
