    18th Annual GJ Secret Santa - 2025!

Looks like I just missed the GJSS update stats, however I did receive my gift in the mailbox today. Thank you to my secret Santa @calandrod , who had a respectable reason for the delay. Thank you for your service. He sent a handmade brass hammer (brass turned on lathe and attached to a Kansas...

    18th Annual GJ Secret Santa - 2025!

There must have still been 2 of us with packages in USPS hands. GJSS sent me a tracking number last week and it is still in USPS hands (tracking now shows expected to deliver it 12/30). I am curious to hear the unique situation as well. Thanks for all who participate and organize this.

Between the River Hills & the River Bottom

Sorry to hear about losing your dad. Thanks so much for posting an honest update, as I'm sure it's tough to share. I've enjoyed reading along your journey and viewing into another's farming ventures. Sad to hear the farm being split apart, but I can understand it happening so easily as well...

Big Thanks to my secret santa @Oggy for my gifts this year. A John Deere flag to hand in the garage, along with a couple new signs and a retractable pencil set. Thanks to Oggy, and to everyone that organizes this event.

"Rob the mechanic" has a funny video with those snap-on pliers on the tool truck. He tells the snap-on guy he's not buying anything, and proceeds to whip out his credit card after the guy uses those pliers to pickup a nickle from the edge.:ROFLMAO:

Unfortunately, it looks like my victim's package won't arrive on time. USPS was scheduled to deliver yesterday, but now seem to have marked it late.

We've been happy with the Norseman Drill & Tool - BR8SQ set. We purchased from a tool vendor that stops by the farm. He tries to handle USA made items and prices seem fair for the quality. http://www.norsemandrill.com/Extractor-USA-Square-Style.php Here's an Amazon link for a similar set...

We run the Affresh tablets as well, but have had issues with mildew building up on drum. You’d smell it if you were having the issue, so no worries there. For a deep clean you remove the drum (same procedure as replacing bearings). Overall less than an hour and tbh I’ve only done it a couple times.

I have the Bravos XL set. Purchased close to 10 years ago. I’ve replaced the bearings in the washer tub once and need to deep clean it once a year, but overall can’t complain. Quality isn’t as common as it used to be. Will definitely look at speed queen when I need to replace.

Fusion is a different animal for sure. I tried my hardest to just figure it out on my own, but finally forced myself to go through the online training videos on youtube (Product Design Online: Learn Fusion360 in 30 days). I'm still getting the hang of it, but at least feel comfortable using it now.

Above 1200 Sq/FT Out on Quaker Road

I'm surprised to see the irrigation up there as well, but can see it's benefit in the dry years. We planted beans last week (northeast Iowa) and hope to plant corn this week. Autosteer is a new addition for us this year. This way I can plant almost as straight as my Dad 😆. How soon will you...

For your application, I’d consider using the magnetic tool holders from Harbor Freight. I’ve used several different socket holders and haven’t found a perfect solution. The spacing is tough and the cost can get high. https://www.harborfreight.com/18-in-magnetic-tool-holder-60433.html
