I have to be real careful as there is a beam just above it. The beam does not rest on much material. Some of the stones are big and can't just be pulled out, otherwise there is a serious risk of collapse. Thats why cutting it in situ is better and If I can cut it flush, the finish should be decent.

I am in the market for a sliding mitre saw that can cut 6 inch (150mm) thick material in one go. I am not worried about cost and am willing to buy whatever that is up to the task. Does anyone know if any manufacturers make anything that can cut this type of thickness in one go?

They look nice, but I would prefer something with an offset head, like an ignition wrench with a long handle.

Its a pity they are still not being made, as they look exactly what I want, and would love to have a set. I especially like the thin profile, straight and offset head, as well as the length. I cant see anything else with all these features. Any idea if anybody is making equivalent tools...
