Fitting short wheel base car (C6) on 2 post lift

I feel your pain. I have a C6 with an aero kit that won't allow the arms of my Rotary SPOA9 underneath. Some lift manufacturers sell low profile lift arms (set of 4) which would solve the problem, but Rotary doesn't provide them for the SPOA9. I built a set of 4 ramps out of 2x6's that I...

Best approach for tapping into a buried waterline

PCustoms has it right. How about a word picture? On a North/South waterline, starting at the north: 90 ell pointing to the East 90 ell pointing to the South To center tap of tee, with the other two outlets pointing East and West 90 ell on the west pointing side of tee, ell pointing to the...

Best approach for tapping into a buried waterline

Thanks all! I think the 3 90's and tee are the way to go. I went to a plumbing supply house, and they didn't have the no-stop slip couplings in PVC, and with the speed the solvent cement sets up, I'd bet it would be tough to get it all the way on one side with cement, add cement to the other...

Best approach for tapping into a buried waterline

Yeah, I struggled with Con's on #2. I'm sure I can install it without leaks. I've done hundreds of feet of PVC for irrigation systems. It just seems over complex. I was hoping for a "just do this instead" response.

Best approach for tapping into a buried waterline

By "slip coupling" do you mean or If the first, yeah I know how to install that. Have you used those w/o leaks? If the second, I don't understand how this is better than just the tee.

Best approach for tapping into a buried waterline

I'm adding a sink to my shop, and to supply the water, I need to tap into an existing buried water line. This line is about a 125' run from the house to our garden/chicken coop area. I need to tap in at about 75' from the house. The water line is 1/2" Sch 40 PVC. Here's my question for the...

Good vid on how to install a hammer handle the right way. with a bonus old USA made handle co.

He said in the video that his wood wedge was 2" tall, and he cut the slot to 1.75" deep to leave the wedge 1/4" proud of the slot so that it could be mashed over. But it still didn't look like it seated all the way in (more than 1/4" proud).

    rattle_snake's random shop projects v0.1

Justin: If you are interested in the cheapest protection for your blast cabinet glass, I have had good luck just putting a layer of 3M clear packing tape on the inside of the glass. If you replace it before it gets truly opaque, the tape stays in one piece better as you pull the old strips...

Insulating Garage Door after AC Install

I used the 4x8'x1.5" foil backed foam sheets, and cut them to size. They were a pretty tight fit in door. While I don't have any before/after measurements, I think that this helped. But both my doors face north, and the Arizona sun doesn't shine directly on them. If you have a south or west...

Steel building, is hiring my own crew worth it?

Just to provide a counter point, I erected my 25x43 with no experience, using friends as the crew, and renting the necessary equipment from the local Home Depot (for the most part). I did get some great advice from @readhead which saved me some time and headaches. I made a few mistakes, but...

    Installing your own lift?

You may be able to get installation instructions from the lift manufacturer as well, for anchor bolt specs, etc. I installed my Rotary SPOA9 after it was disassembled by the previous owner. It was pretty straightforward.

Creating a ramp at garage entrance - fixing a drainage problem

If the back (garage side) of the apron is higher than the edge of the driveway, grind the apron so that it slopes toward the driveway. You would be surprised how fast a diamond cup will cut the concrete. With that practice under your belt, you can grind the lip off of the edge of the garage...

+1 on the Dewalt Polesaw. I've had one for a year or two, and it has been very useful trimming our Mesquite and Sissoo trees.

Justin: Let me know if your paver guy doesn't work out - I can give you a couple of names/numbers. I've contacted a few, and I can't get anyone to to come out and do the 150sqft that didn't get done with the original 400sqft we did this spring - we ran out of pavers and there was a shortage...

Do circuit breakers in series need to be the same amperage?

Wow, thanks for all the responses and insights. I'm not sure I'll spend $37 on a 60a breaker, but a label that says "Max load not to exceed 60a" might be a indication to future me (or someone else) to actually look at the feeder wires... even though I know I should (today).

Do circuit breakers in series need to be the same amperage?

I just had my old Challenger 200a main panel on my house replaced with a new Eaton. While the electrician was here, he was looking at the sub-panel in my shop. The sub-panel is a 100a panel with a 100a service disconnect. It is fed by a 4-wire underground run from a 60a breaker in my (new) main...
