I was able to put a damaged piece of pex in the vise (with fittings attached) and release the fitting with the orange tool without much trouble. However, I could not do it no matter how hard I tried when the damaged line was in the ground. By further explanation, I had cut out the bad section...

Is there a real tool to release a Sharkbite connector from the tubing? I made one for 1/2" pipe that works OK, but when I needed to release a 3/4 connector, the orange U shaped "tool" needed more pressure than I could administer. I am probably overlooking the obvious.

I have also demolished enough concrete also, and agree with Firebrick43. I made my own chairs out of scrap 3 or 4 inch PVC pipe. I could then walk around on the suspended rebar.

When I was a teenager I took apart a bowling alley that was given to me for free. I used the pine which most of the alley was made of to build a garage. Lots of labor to build, I even did a hip roof using the materials. This was over 60 years ago, it is still standing.

Even though I don't yet have a problem getting off a creeper (I am 83) I'm still considering a lift!

I did a larger house with a good size excavator. It was a bit stubborn until I destroyed the stairwell. All in all took less than an hour. Piece of cake.

I had the identical situation in my building, red clay as well. surrounded pipe with 57's all the way to septic tank. Been 8 years, no problem.

My underground run in upstate NY was 60'. Only had a moisture separator at the end in my shop. Nice to not hear compressor run. No problem with freezing. Line was PEX, 3/4. Tom

^^^ True. I solved my problem via excavation and drainage. Prior to that it looked like a bucket or two of water was dumped on the floor.

Cold water flowing under slab causing condensation? Use a laser interferometer to compare slab temp at problem area and on other side of garage.

I would thought it would have broken, not bent. I had a broken 8" one, bought for a couple of $ many years ago. I had a blacksmith weld it back together. Cost me $5. He heated it up in an oven before welding. I have abused the heck out of it and did not break it. Now, the humor in this bit is...
