Thanks for all the advice. I don't see him coming down far enough on price to make it worth the money to me. I didn't notice the motor mount part either. I do like this model of drill press so I plan to keep my eyes open for a working condition one to restore/use.
I've been looking for an older drill press lately and it got me thinking about parts availability. I found this one close to me:

But it's missing the motor and motor pulley. I'd like to restore one and get it back to full service but I'm not...
Looks like enough material to make a good drainable base but its not close to compacted enough. Theoldwizard is right, 4"-5" lifts and compact them as good as you can.
I responded to that email I got and have yet to get a response. In all fairness I was asking about some items that weren't on the included list. Mike's the best in the business to deal with, just hoping this new employee expedites things a bit. Overall I'm just jealous to see someone getting...
So a while back we purchased our first house. Not my dream garage space but happy to move up from the one car we had. I've got some simple before and after photos for ya and if there's interest Ill get some pictures of my current setup.
As you can see the previous owner did not care what the...
I too was a lurker, now I'm in one of those guys that has't' been here in a while. You've motivated me to organize some pictures of my space and maybe some before and after shots.
Throw some pics up and the ideas will go nuts in here.
Why not lookup a small engine shop or an air compressor service location and give them a call and see what idea they might have? A lot of times you can get some good advice and sometimes find a good resource for parts.
Sorry, I'm no compressor genius just my 2 cents.
Lowes claims for have a 3 year warranty and I found this powermate at HD: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202636577/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 but it only shows a 2 year warranty. No doubt those are the exact same compressor because the descriptions are...
I saw the one on northern tool but with the shipping it makes it less of a deal. Plus I think the northern tool ones are refurb. Man why can't Northern Tool open a store here, it would save me a lot of money lol. Anyone wunna bring me a compressor?
Mostly this compressor would be used for tires, impact, and possibly a ratchet or to briefly blow off dubris. If at some point I expand and get a bigger shop then maybe I'll upgrade, just didn't understand the voltage info for this compressor...
I've been looking around at compressors and currently can only support 110v. I found a 30 gallon oiled unit at Lowe's that says it has dual voltage capabilities? Does anyone know how this works or if it improves the CFM rating? It has enough SCFM to handle what I'm going to be using it for...
I live in the same style house and I've got one vent open in the garage to keep it somewhat warm. Insulation in my ceiling like yours I'm guessing and my room isn't too bad. It is colder than the main living area of the house but I don't mind adding an extra blanket. Like I said it's maybe...
Sounds like a pretty good idea to me. I've always enjoyed the way this site was put together, and having ads in the threads would really ****. The list of retailers will make a big difference to certain people. However, I'm in for the $50 and I'll take whatever perks come with it.
I had my own small tool box since before I could remember. When I moved out I started buying used Cman and snapon stuff. Now it's grown to quite the collection. Anytime I run into a situation where a certain tool would help me I'll usually buy it, I figure if the cost to have somebody else do...
