    TMG industrial 2 post lift

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I am wondering what your result was. Did you keep the lift or sell it? I'm keeping my eye out for a lift and see lots of these lifts popping up on local auction sites. Trying to find a review on them.

    Heater not heating properly

The unit was bought second hand, but was never installed. The PO bought it with intentions of installing it in his garage, but ended up selling his house, so he sold the heater.

    Heater not heating properly

The plumber ran the line and installed the conversion kit. He told me that he put the correct kit in, but I'll double check with him on monday. My friend tested the pressure with a manometer. That is how we narrowed the problem down to after the valve.

    Heater not heating properly

My friend that tested the pressure did adjust it a bit, but he didnt want to screw the adjustment too far because he said there is no stop and the screw will go all the way into the manifold.

    Heater not heating properly

I recently installed a 40k BTU radiant tube heater with a Honeywell smart valve in my garage. It's been fairly cold around these parts (-35) and I noticed the heater is not keeping up. After doing some investigating, I noticed that the heater is only running at 24k BTU. I had a friend with a gas...

Got some free lights, now I need a plan

I got the lights today. I took 10 2 bulb units. I will get a few bulbs this week and test to make sure they all work. I think I will probably end up doing 3 rows of 3 plus the 2 t8s above my workbench, but for now I'll focus on making sure they all work.

Got some free lights, now I need a plan

I added the doors in red. I would definetly rather use T8 or T5, but with them being free, I'll put those in for now and I can replace them in the future.

Got some free lights, now I need a plan

I came across some fluorescent lights that were pulled out of a building for renovations. They are 2 bulb 4' T12 light fixtures. I am told I can take however many I need. My garage is 22' x 30'. Currently there are 2 4' T8 lights and 2 26w CFL lights. You can see them in the diagram below. The...

    Floor drain in existing garage

Where I am from, it is perfectly legal to to have a floor drain in the garage. From the 2 new builds I know about, they had a 6" pipe going into the ground with crushed rock in it.

    Floor drain in existing garage

I have a 22x30 detached garage. It was unheated until now. The problem I'm facing is there is no floor drain, so all the snow that melts off the vehicles just sits of the floor that is not sloped very good. All the water is pooling up against the wall. My question is, how do I go about...

    Radiant Tube Heater Vent

I just picked up a used radiant tube heater. He gave me the venting that he had it installed with. My question is, it uses a balanced flue, so basically the heat exhaust is in the middle of the vent. With this setup, do I still need to use a special wall thimble when venting through the wall, or...

    Garage heater placement

I am going to be digging a trench for the gasline to my garage. I want to dig it closest to where I will be mounting my heater. I plan on buying an infrared radiant tube heater. Where would you suggest I mount it? I was thinking in the middle of the south wall. Thoughts?

    Adding Welder to garage

Sounds good. I looked at my panal today, and the wire going to the garage is about 50 ft long and the wire says 8/3 on it. Is 40 amp the max I can run through it?

    Adding Welder to garage

I have also thought about upgrading the main panel, but I would assume that comes with a big price tag. I know they ran new wire underground, but I'm not sure if they put in thicker wire when they did this or not.

    Adding Welder to garage

I was looking at a hobart 187. It says it runs at 20.5 amp. so I would imagine a 25 or 30 amp breaker. Since the garage only has 40 amp, I will need to limit the amount of things running at the same time. On a side note, it I was to upgrade to a 60 amp in the garage, what wire would I need to...

    Adding Welder to garage

I bought a house last summer. It has a double detached garage, and I am thinking I'd like to get a welder and do some welding. The house has a 100 Amp service, and a 40 amp sub panel in the garage running off the house. If I put a 30 amp 240 breaker in, will this be enough for a small mig...

    Question about rafters

The joists in the attic are I think 2x8, so they are pretty stong. What would be an indication in the attic that the wall is carrying the weight?

    Question about rafters

Yes there is a centre wall and I belive it is the supporting wall(red). In the basement, there is a beam made of 4 2x10's going right under the red wall with 3 pillers to hold it up. The green wall is the wall I want to remove. It has no wall under it in the basement, but has a 4x4 at each end...

    Question about rafters

I will start off by saying it's a question about my house, so I apoligize for that. I just bought my first house, and I was up in the attic today. I was looking at the rafters, and they don't look like anything I have seen before. The bottom part of the attic is made up of "joists" that are...
