    Stolen tools in Topeka

Thanks guys. The case had markings for our company and department on it, but the tools did not. I've got our police department involved, so hopefully they can get some leads.

    Stolen tools in Topeka

Not sure if this is the most appropriate forum, but it seemed the best. We had our mobile tool kit stolen out of our building at work in Topeka (BNSF Railway). Suspect someone at our workplace, but it could be one of more than 1000 people. They had to know where to find it. Our shop is gated...

HF - Adjustable Steel Welding Table

I bought one the other day with a coupon. With the coupon, it is a good value table. There are some design and fit-and-finish issues, but for the price with coupon, the table seems to be a fair purchase. I bought it to avoid using my main work bench (a stainless steel former stadium Super...

    Bandsaw blade stalling

There may be some residual compressive stress in the part? We cut railroad wheels with an abrasive water jet because the compressive stress in wheels cause the band saw blades to get pinched and stall the saw.

    Tooling organization

7echo, do you happen to work in the vicinity of Waverly AL? PM me so we dont hijack the thread. The CofG is near and dear to my heart, as is the Frisco and the Santa Fe. Lil scorpion, that's not so bad a price for a slab that thick.

Nice job! I've considered going the HDPE route. How much did the slab cost?

Here's a T-handle hex key holder I made for work. I've got two small tool rooms to keep up on two different rail cars and the hex keys were eating up precious drawer space. I designed it to have the keys angled against the wall where their footprint is minimized. To reduce rattling, I added the...

What bearing is this? (belt grinder)

Well, after many months of semi-passive searching, Pueblo Bearing was able to find the parts for me. A Bearings Unlimited CSA202-10 was the ticket I needed to get the belt grinder back and spinning. The only thing I need now is a shaft coupling, which is on order from McMaster. Thanks to all...

    Got a 2-9/16" crowsfoot?

I'll be damned. That's perty with the shiny chrome. Now I'm curious if that would fit the fitting. It's kind of a rounded hex. I'll try and shoot a pic tomorrow. I did use the wrench today to get some of the fittings on the hoses. Next week will be the tricky part when we hook em up to the tank.

    Got a 2-9/16" crowsfoot?

Thanks guys, glad you like. AP, it definitely is! We just got our Bridgeport back with a Centroid CNC controller on it. Cant wait to fire that thing up.

    Got a 2-9/16" crowsfoot?

Obviously a 3/4" drive 2-9/16" crowsfoot wrench isn't in stock everywhere. I cut two profiles from 1/4" plate on the flowjet, jigged them up and plug welded the holes. I've got some hard to reach Dixon Valve dry break connectors to tighten up. Hope yall enjoy. Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk 2

    Dividing Head Mystery - Stumped

Correct, rsanter, it did require the tailstock to hold between centers. I'm looking to improve our machining capabilities, and a chuck would help greatly. If I can get a reasonable price on a chuck and backing plate, then we'll keep it and use it for splines/gears/cams and such.

    Dividing Head Mystery - Stumped

Wow, nice find DenisG. Thanks for the info. I saw that Rutland was bought by MSC, and I just searched MSC for any chucks with the same thread. No luck. 454ragtop, I did measure the threads and compare to metric. Thread OD is 1.242", and the thread pitch is definitely 7 TPI. Everything is in...
