    Wilton C1 Vise

From what I read is that the Wilton 4" and 4 1/2" vises all use the same base. The only difference is the bolt length for the locking nut.

    Wilton C1 Vise

I just picked up a beat up 4 " bullet and used the base on my C1.

    Wilton 4" Bullet vise

I used some JB Weld to fill in the damage area. The vice works smoothly with no binding at all. I'm just waiting for some aluminum bar to make some vise jaw pads.

    Wilton 4" Bullet vise

My C1 using the base. I did need two longer carrage bolts for the locking nuts.

    Wilton 4" Bullet vise

I think I can make a good usable vise minus the swivel base I'm using for my C1 vise. I stripped it down to bear metal, other then the damaged slide and some battle scars its in fine shape. All I need is some vise jaws to make it a usable vise. The lead screw is in great shape and it slides in...

    Wilton 4" Bullet vise

Here's close up of the damage, not sure how to fix it without a welder. Looks like someone tried to repair it, maybe they used JB Weld. It does slide in and out just fine.

    Wilton 4" Bullet vise

Maybe a tourch, it's weird for sure.

    Wilton 4" Bullet vise

I found a Wilton 4" Bullet vise on Facebook that I could pass up. It's missing the jaws, has a hole in the round slide. It also has a broken off piece beneath one of the jaws. The main reason I got it was for the swivel base. The base is complete with only a bent handel on one of the hold down...

    Parker 271 Vise

Your tapered pin does not look original but if it fits correctly then that's good. Maybe you can round off the top of the pin, that would look more original. You should be able to find a solid pin to hold the rear jaw, good luck.

    Parker 271 Vise

I cannot remove the long pin holding the rear, the top tapered knob comes out fine. I don't want to damage the vise trying to remove a 100 year old pin. May some heat would help, not sure. Sorry for all the replies

    Parker 271 Vise

Also the pin in the back is tapered. Nice vise!

    Parker 271 Vise

The original setup is a small set screw, a spring, then a steel ball. I'm trying to find a set screw with a ball bearing at the tip. They make them, I just need the correct size.

    Parker 271 Vise

My pin is solid holding the rear jaw. The screw is a 5/16-18, mine came with a bolt head screw. I cut the head off and cut a slot into it.

    Parker 271 Vise

They don't show up that often. I looked at a few over the last few years, both were beat to hell and not worth my time. I jumped on this one quickly when I saw it. I got lucky as I don't think it would have lasted long on the market.

    Parker 271 Vise

I picked a Parker 271 Vise, it is in nice shape for a 100 year old vise. The swivel rear jaw was not frozen as many are. It was dusty and dirty, I cleaned it up and lubed it too. I could not remove the pin holding in the rear jaw, it would not budge. As the rear jaw is moving freely I will leave...

Not sure what to make of this date code: It looks like 0418

    Wilton C1 Vise

I picked up a Wilton C1 Vice off Facebook Marketplace, $80.00. It does not have the swivel base but otherwise it's in great shape. I took it all apart to do a cleaning and lubrication. The jaws look new as does the little anvil section. I didn't need another vise but it was a good price so I...
