    A Truth About Harbor Freight

I'm thinking improve upon it, bringing it back to the way Sears tools were regarded 40-50 years ago.

    A Truth About Harbor Freight

IMO they really stepped up their game over the past few years.

    HOA horrors?

We're going through the same thing here. Since there is really no one to regulate an HOA the prices can rise quickly and cause problems as a result. I heard too many horror stories which has us rethinking things.

    New Snap-On F100

+1 Dropping the Dual 80 would be a mistake imo. My guy said the 100 tooth ratchets aren't selling well.

    New Snap-On F100

Easily enough, and it doesn't require opening it up to look. The direction lever was changed, and to double check it doesn't freewheel if pressure is applied to the direction lever.

    New Snap-On F100

Thanks. My guy doesn't have them. I wanted to know if they were released to the dealers and if it was a regional thing or not.

    New Snap-On F100

Does anyone know if the new revised 100 tooth ratchets had made it to the dealers? If so where? Thanks.

    New Snap-On F100

I found out today the repair kits are on backorder with an ETA of 6/15. I'm usually not an early adopter of anything, I went against my better judgement buying too soon. Lesson learned.

    New Snap-On F100

I hear ya, my guy has been good. I didn't press the issue on the tool. I read somewhere that they're called "restricted tools," whatever that means. They market field repair kits, you'd think they'd be selling the tool to make field repairs easier.

    New Snap-On F100

I hope to have the repair kits by next week, and to put this freewheeling issue behind me. I crushed a piece of solid copper wire that has worked in the past holding the ball in place in other ratchets. I'm pretty sure it will work for these.

    New Snap-On F100

At the current Ebay prices for them, including shipping, ~$15, that would have been one hell of an investment for someone.

    New Snap-On F100

Yea that $0.99 tool fetches about $15 on Ebay, shipped free. I made one. At my age a SO toolbox is not in the cards, but for someone else that tool would be useful for sure.

    New Snap-On F100

I have a good relationship with the local SO guy. I shoot him an email with what I want he gives me a price and meet him at one of his stops and pick up what I need. He's good to deal with.

    New Snap-On F100

He has one, he doesn't sell them.

    New Snap-On F100

The funny thing is I've been going back and forth with Snap On Corporate up until February this year and was told there were no changes being made to the ratchet. Some people even claimed the freewheeling was by design. It appears they weren't sure themselves. Hopefully the kit works for me...

    New Snap-On F100

Thanks for the info. I have two kits on the way, my SO dealer said he'd have them later this week. I'll put them in myself. Did you see any of the new ratchets with the updated parts? I'm curious if they changed the Logo or anything else?

    New Snap-On F100

Good to know. I'll hit my dealer up for the repair kit. The spring tool is a must have? That I know for a fact he doesn't have.

First sign of the G2 Icon ratchets ….

I'm going to try and hold off hoping for some kind of sale. So far my store has been out of stock, making it easier to wait.

Insurance for your tools and your tools after death……

No insurance on my tools, but next time my son comes to visit I'm going to alert him as to what they're worth. I'd be rolling in my grave if he sells Snap On, Nepros, KoKen, Hazet, etc. etc. tools at HF prices. ;)
