If I'm working on a car that's on a jack my jackstands are in use. If I'm changing a flat in an emergency, I'll toss a tire under the car for safety, like @rust in the eye does, but in a situation like that I'm not going under the car.

I got a good deal on these from my Snap On dealer. HL138ACP and LN44BCF.

As it turns out they do list the repair kit "RKRF100" on the site. I used that part for two of my 100 tooth ratchets and it didn't work in either one of them. That is probably being revised and why the * shows [discontinued] when the franchise owners look it up.

That was a good deal, they're showing $15.65 for me.

I see that, it's possible they haven't updated the site. My guy told me they have it in the system the dealers use as * which means they are coming out with a new replacement part.

My guy told me the issue is not only the back-drag, there are also numerous complaints about the freewheeling. That is supposed to be addressed with the next repair kit/revision of the tool. They are no longer showing the part # for the repair kit, which typically means a revision is in the...

Anyone get one of these ratchets w/o the freewheeling issue? No one I know around here has one.

See if you can borrow one, unfortunately some sockets fit better than others. Impact sockets do wear for lack of a better term if used a lot. You can try cutting the nut off too.

Get a socket that fits properly, and a stronger impact gun. A little bit of heat wouldn't hurt either.
