HELP!!! My New Garage Floor Cracked

That seems pretty quick to get a crack which leads to a suspect execution of the slab IMO. And surprising the joint didn't take the crack being so close. I feel your pain - my December poured 40x60 just had it's first show up. As well as one of the 25x25 entrance pads. My eye focuses on...

RaceDeck is awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for quality

As a person who has led numerous operations through successful ISO9001/TS16949/QS9000 certifications, I can say it's something you should be very proud of. Implementation in 6 mos and no nonconformances is impressive - a sign that you had good processes and customer commitment all along...

no problem - all of that info was news to me also.

    I don't get it (ebay)

At that level of bidding, bids are in .50 increments. So if he got it for 11.50, then someone had to bid 11.00 which was more than the BIN (assuming the BIN was still showing)..........so why would someone intentionally bid 11.00 when a BIN of 10.99 was available? strange. I'm guessing the...

    I don't get it (ebay)

From ebay: Why did the Buy It Now option disappear after the first bid? Buy It Now gives you the chance to purchase an item immediately, before bidding begins. But you have to act fast. Once someone bids, the Buy It Now option disappears. The listing then proceeds as a regular auction-style...

Figured I would show off my little piece of the world

Congrats, it takes most people at least 30 to accomplish something that significant.

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

I've seen this garage enough that it wouldn't shock me the least if one day I opened my garage door and saw it there in all it's green glory. That wouldn't be a bad thing. Congrats JO.

    My New 24x40 Shop Build

I'm not criticizing chickenhauler's build as we all need to do what we are comfortable with. However, I always recommend PT for anything below the wall and headers at all openings. The cost is minimal and potentially leaves something of more value........and might hold up better to misplaced...

    New 32 x 24 garage/office

SLC - nice build. When you said "double hung sheetrock", you mean you put in 2 layers? If so, what was the purpose (not criticizing, just interested). If so, I would assume one layer vertical and one horizontal? And the last layer is only glued - not screwed? +1 on the radiant barrier. Thanks

    First Big Estate Sale Buy...

Looks like about 400 boards - if they are 3.5" wide and 6' long on avg, then there's about 700 sqft. Everyone is missing the important issue here - not how many sqft there are or if the wrenches are 6pt or 12pt.........but that the better half is happy.

    Drill press rebuild/restore or scrap?

How does it run? I'm all for saving these old tools. I just bought a late 40's craftsman press and it will be fine for much of what I want to do.......and there is the cool factor IMO. If you don't want it, pls give it someone who restores these or will restore it/use it.

    Southern Cal Garage Condo Build

I've seen a few of these and some really nicely executed examples and looks like you are on your way - congrats on the build. However, I struggle with the concept a bit - these are used primarily for a place to store RV's or do owners stay in their RV's or ? I'm surprised you can do romex...

    My $40 Army Surplus cabinet

Brad, here is a pic of the one I got just in the past few weeks. Messy and poor blackberry pic. I might just re-do it in olive drab - undecided just yet - a future project. Mine is on a base with casters.

Best way to haggle on the price with the builder?

Enough good advice has been given that you don't need my .02. I just want to say how much I always enjoy reading frank the plumber's posts.

Question on drain vent through corrugated metal

green, I've used the lenox bi-metal saw through pbr with xlnt results - I just put in a 2 1/8" hole for meter/electrical panel. The fit was clean and tight and I gave it a light hit of expanding foam - it is hidden behind the panel so appearance was not of highest concern - for something more...

    Is Bigger Always Better? (Garage/Shop)

Not always but I've yet to come up with an example where it wasn't. Seriously, layout and details are what makes a shop efficient and size can work against you if not properly laid out.

    My $40 Army Surplus cabinet

I have the same box picked up at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago - the estate was close to an ex-AF base so I assume that is where it came from. Mine has metal dividers that fit in those slots in the drawers. About the same condition as yours but does not have "cabinet" on...
